... clover?
Yes, I believe it was Grandpa Bob.
This is the type of thing I see all day at my place, the babies coming out to eat the clover and such in the driveway. They do go onto various parts of the lawn also, but their 'house' is right off the driveway so they can get their fill of the stuff growing in the driveway and hop back over to their safe haven very quickly if need be.
They pretty much know that I'm not a threat to them so I can get pretty close before they hop off. There were two of them just before I was able to snatch this picture, but one of them did scamper off. This little guy hung around long enough for me to get several shots.

We've got a few of those around too, and they are quite funny. I think I have a picture here somewhere; I should post him too!

Aww, he's adorable. We have a decent size yard, so I see all types of animals. We have three rabbits that sit in our flower garden. (They sit in the same spots, so there is an indent in the flowers). We see deers occassionally. We live in a small town, right next to the woods, so it's kind of cool to see them wondering through the yard first thing in the morning.
During the day though, they all pretty much steer clear of our yard. We have 3 dogs, and they keep their territory cleared out.
You're a great photographer. = )
I love the picture.

Thanks. My camera croaked and I've been using my husband's. It's a much better camera, so I'm not going to bother trying to work with mine anymore.
I live in a fairly rural area and see loads of wildlife out here too. Deer and rabbits are abundant, and there are one or two little chipmunk/ground squirrels that show their face quite often, in fact, I've got a picture here somewhere of one on the step right outside my window. I should find it and post it, he's a cute little guy.

Sheesh there's my name in lights once again. Well not lights but at the bottom of the billboards all the same. HAHAHA! Thanks. I hate rabbits as they eat my lilies all the time. Seems all the birds out front, especially the black birds, have kept them at bay most this season.
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I still think they're cute and they've got more used to me being around. I don't have any more beans that they can reach, and they haven't tried to get into my cheap fencing to get to the snap peas or lettuce, so I guess they can stay.

Now I don't feel so bad. Your driveway actually tops mine in being overgrown with grass and weeds. lol Cute bunny but not so cute either being he/she is prolly one of the culprits in your beans' disappearance. lol Could be you didn't have any yummy clover yet so they went for the next best thing.

If the gravel is packed down, it can be mowed over. Just set the mower at it's highest position is all. I mow my drive when I do my yard. It keeps a check on the tall weeds growing is all. I only sprayed around our walkway, leaving the drive alone.

I enjoy seeing them there every day so no, I won't go pull it out. It's gravel with just the weeds coming through, so it can't be mowed and would have to be done by hand.
Why bother, when the little critters enjoy it, and I enjoy them?

oh the little bunnies that come out and eat clover are so
cute and I missthat. living in the suberbs of a medium sized
city you miss so much. but we do have a rather funny and obnoxious possum who comes into our patio late at night and
tears open our plastic garbage sacks. He takes what he wants and strews the rest all over. I caught him once at about three in the morning, and he is one fat old possum, how on earth he managed to crawl under our cedar fence is beyond me but he did make it. I had to laugh as he is really chubby. as for those darned plastic garbage sacks thats another story. we have around two hundred families in our apt. complex and just five dumpsters so they soon get filled and you are stuck having to keep your full plastic garbages sacks on your patio until a dumpster is empty. lo l.

I know everyone thinks possums are ugly, but I think they can be kinda cute. I would love to see his little fat body crawling under the fence, I'm sure it would be quite comical.
I don't think I'd like him messing in my garbage, though.

It sounds like you, as well as I try to have a wildlife sanctuary right around where you live. It is fun to see who or what comes to play and eat. I have bunnies, sometimes, and squirrels, and all kinds of birds. They like clover and fruit from the trees and other growing things.

I don't really have to try, my friend, they were here before I was. I just moved into this small rental home last Sept, and I'm always amazed at what I see here.
I don't run them off (except for trying to keep them out of my beans!).
Lots of bunnies, squirrels, a plethora of birds, deer, chipmunk - we even had a mama mallard and her four little ducklings waddle through one day.
I love it!

Yes. Grandpa Bob said it. I answered his discussion about it today, as a matter of fact. WQe have alot of clover and crab grass in our yard too. We had to plant our own grass seed when we bought our home. I think we got everything but grass in our yard though. I hope to fix that some day soon though. We are working on yard projects now.

Yes, I know Grandpa Bob is the one that said it; it was just a way to open this discussion about my baby rabbits.
I can't wait until I can get my own place and do what I want.

I forgot that thumpers like clover as well as bambis. I have quite a lot of clover in my lawn as well and enjoy watching the deer browse in my yard thruout the day.

The deer don't actually come into my yard, but just a few feet away, over the fence on the one side. The bunnies are all over!

Awww..that is so sweet! Looks like any bunnies can have a regular feast in your driveway...hey, look at it this way you have a natural mowing system going for you..I think that one bunny wanted to have his picture taken..hehe

I see no reason to put chemicals out there to take away their feast, and mowing wouldn't really do much good.
Let them have it!

Isn't that just the cutest thing ever.
I love the wildlife that comes into our yard too. Well except for the deer. Love to see them, but really get frustrated with them too.
I planted some hyacinth bean vines in the front yard because they are so lovely when they grow up. Last night apparently a deer came through again and all of the leaves in the middle of one of the vines have disappeared. Still have some on top and on the bottom, but the middle is completely bare this morning. Last year it was my roses, now the bean vines. I just can't win against their appetites.

Oh no!
We've got plenty of deer out here too, but I'm right beside the small wooded area that they travel through, and I guess there's plenty enough vegetation out there to sustain them.
I throw my fruit and vegetable scraps out over the fence too. In fact, I was throwing some watermelon rinds over the fence yesterday and didn't realize there was a deer there, and of course spooked him.

Aww...2 cute!!! My son has 2 pet bunnies & we keep them in the house. We go outside & pick clover for them everyday. They do love clover. They will just munch & munch on it. They like it better than their bunny food. & i'm sure it's prob better for them than that food you buy in stores for them.

I wouldn't say it's a baby, but judging by the length of its ears, you might be right. I should've known they eat clovers too being herbivores and all...
