it will depend on your budget. but in every budget you will find lots of choices. just always remember that the gift can be of used even if she receives the same gift from another person. so never give appliances like rice cooker, blender, coffee maker etc. because who would need two of this? right.... plates is a nice gift because even if she receives a lot of sets it will still be of used in time. but it would be better if you give designers if you decide on plates (say..corelle). a nice set of pyrex will also be useful. and my favorite gift when it comes to kitchen utensils is signature spoon and fork. just think, who would spend money for spoon and fork? just a few but less know that it is a very elegant addition to once kitchen collection. if you don't like kitchen wares then a comforter will be best. not a bed sheet because you do not know their bed size. but with comforters it will go with any couple bed size. an elegant painting would also be perfect. so, i hope i did give you some suggestions. good luck and happy shopping. best wishes to your friend......
