Have you taken a trip to England and what did you do there? I would love to go someday and would be interested in any advice you have about visiting. Thanks.

I live in England. The summer is usually warm, the spring often has sunny days, the autumn usually has chilly weather and in the winter it is often very cold. It can rain at anytime of the year. London is a huge city with sights like the River Thames, Tower Bridge, the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and Buckingham Palace. It has an amazing history with stories of Kings and Queens being quite fascinating. I used to live near Canterbury, famous for its cathedral and was also close to the magical looking White Cliffs of Dover. I liked to go to Rye, with its cobbled streets and climb the church tower to see all the historical streets and countryside beyond. Other places that I like are Bath with its spa water, York with its minster and Chester with its Roman walls. I suggest booking a flight to London in advance and then getting a train pass to explore England and you might want to see Wales and Scotland as well. Youth hostels and backpacker accommodtion is cheap and guest houses are reasonable. I hope that you will come to England one day soon and that you will have a wonderful time.

Thanks for giving me the best response. I am very keen on traveling however it is always nice to return to England where I can see the green fields and old cottages. I think that you will like the sense of history that the UK has got. I hope that you will have an excellent trip.

I've heard that too. But we go to Oregon a lot and it rains there alot too so I guess that wouldn't bother me. I love that it has so much history (England) and would love to see castles and such. Thanks for commenting.

I went to England for a few days last summer. I had never been there before and my boyfriend took me on the whirlwind tour (he lived in London for awhile during college). We mostly saw the sites in London, but we took a bus out to Stonehenge and Bath one day. Stonehenge was a bit of a disappointment, since you can't get within 25 feet of the stones, but Bath was pretty cool. In London, we walked along the Thames, went to the museum, and took a bus and boat tour. It was great fun, but next time, I'd allow at least a week for the trip, we were exhausted!

Thanks for sharing info about your trip to England. The more information I have, the better. I think if I were to go I'd plan at least two weeks because there is so much area I want to cover. Of course, that would depend upon cost!
