Do you enjoy someone opening doors for you

Or is it just an annoyance to you? I enjoy it, there aren't many men out there today that will open the door for a lady, whether its your husband or a friend or someone you don't know. My husband opens doors for me. Whenever we go to a place, he'll open the door, if I try to open it myself, he'll say wait let me get it for you. I like it, it makes me feel like a lady, and shows that he cares for me, and doesn't mind doing things for me. I think his mother raised him right. Its good to know that there are men out there that still do that. So what do you think about that? Do you enjoy it or do you think its an annoyance and it doesn't matter to you?

hi walijo! i like it when guys open the door for me. just like you said, it makes us feel like a lady. you're lucky to have a husband like yours. very gentleman. the simple act of opening the door for a girl or an elderly is really admirable because it just shows that a guy is attentive and sensitive to the needs of the girl. most of the guys in our office still open the door for girls, somehow they are still the gentlemen, good for them.

There are hardly any Gentlemen nowadays. It doesn't help that I have a more 'guyish' kind of character. Many of my guy friends do not see me as a girl, they see me more as a 'brother' and treat me like one of them. There is a rare 1 or 2 among them who will open doors for me. I appreciate that when it happens.

Yeah walijo, as a lady I of course feel proud and pleasant if some body open the door for me, especially I am carrying something and not convenient for me to open the door myself. Otherwise I have to lay the thing on the floor and push the door, and stop it from closing again with the leg and to pick up the thing on the floor again. You could imagine how embarrassed for a lady to behave like this in the public. We understand that if somebody open door for us it means that the person respects us or just help us as a matter of courtesy. I find that most gentlemen would like to serve a lady in this way. Perhaps this is a social rule in our society for man showing his care for woman. Of course, when I go out with my husband I certainly don’t have to worry about opening doors as he always willing to serve me well, though I don’t carry anything in my hands. Anyway I would always thank sincerely to those who are so kind as to offer me this service. posting and have a nice day.

Hi walijo, here I would like to express my delayed gratitude for the best response awarded. I’m glad to know that we have the common point of view of liking our loved one to open the doors for us all the time. From this we could feel that our loved one really care for us. Nowadays our society matter much about equal right between man and woman and we find lesser men to serve the ladies. posting and cheers.

Yes, it does make you feel good to have someone open the door for you. This day in society that doesn't happen that much anymore, and I think it does show respect and courtesy. My husband opens doors for me all the time too, its his way of showing me that he cares about me, and wants to make me feel special, and it does. Thanks for posting....have a good day..

I enjoy it when someone opens a door for me. And it is especially a treat when it is a teenager or a young man. My sister always used to tell them that their mother raised them right. I think it is thoughtful of someone and I feel important, like it matters that I am also going through the door.

NOwadays, we can seldom find ple who is willing to even hold the door for us, not to say open the door.. lol =D THere are alot of inconsiderate ple whom only think about themselves and not the ones behind them or those with inconvenience.. So far i have only met a few whom will open the door for me, but never seen anyone whom will hold the door for me.. MOst of the time, i will open and hold the door for the next person when they are just behind me, as it's basic courtesy to me ^_^

yeah, I've seen that too, there were times when I've had my arms full of stuff and had to try to get the door open using my foot to hold it open, and people just go on by looking at me like I'm crazy or something..lol. I do that too, I'll hold the door open for someone behind me. Thanks...

I actually enjoy when my husband opens the door for me, and many times he does it, and it is a Big help for sure. Especially when I might have my hands full with something. He is also known to do it when we go out to eat somewhere, and even if it is others with us a lot of times he will open it for them as well. I think any man that can do this is a True gentleman, and to be honored for sure.

Hello I think it is sweet , but I also think there is a time and a place for this . Like if me and my fiance go somewhere nice , or out on a date then yes i love it . Also if you are helping a baby in a stroller, someone in a wheel chair , or an older couple it is cool too . Sometimes, i do get annoyed when my fiance will do it at a dennys or a store LOL.

Well it is not an annoyance to me in fact sometime sit is quite welcomed like the last time i had my hands full with lunch of all my friends and I found it difficult to oepn my own door .Luckily a friend of mine was going to the same place I was and helped me all the way .Oh and one more thing I may be a little uncomfortable about a woman opening my door ,call me old fashioned I believe it should always be the other way around lol

Well I've actually seen some people get annoyed when someone opens the door for them, like it makes them mad or something. I myself enjoy it, it shows that some people still have manners these days. Okay I will call you old fashioned..
