My husband was in Brazil this week and coincidentally today I saw some news from Rio. They were releasing about 4,000 red balloons, which represented the more than 4,000 people that have been murdered in that country in one year! I don't know who those people were, but I know that many could have been children, as child murders are always a problem there!

It must have been amazing to see the 4,000 balloons being released and I hope that none of them damaged the environment. It is sad that 4,000 people have been murdered in Brazil in one year. Are the children that are killed those on the street that are living in poverty? I would love to go to the stunning city of Rio de Janeiro.

Hi sylvia13.. It saddens me that there are many people killed in that country for one year alone. This is a good way to remember them and will definitely send the message across other people. But I hope that justice will still be given to this people. Most of their families and relatives are still healing, and the best that the government can provide is to make sure that these people get the justice they deserve. Children shouldn't be murdered, they haven't even done anything yet in the world! I hope the Brazilian government will take action on these murders.
