Hi, Dixie,
I don't have rosacea but I worked with a lady who had it. She is a pretty lady, but her rosacea was bad. However, I think she irritated it by scrubbing it to harshly. She also covered it with a lot of makeup daily, which I'm guessing was not good for it.
I have a problem with adult acne, and wondered at times if it was a form of rosacea because she had acne with hers. I had read that people can actually get rosacea from others by using the same telephones, etc. Well, we worked closely together in the office and used each others' phones frequently. I didn't have the acne until after I had worked with this gal a few years.
Have you heard anything about this being a possibilty -- that someone could pass it along to someone in this way?

I was told it was not contagious as they believe it's genetic or caused by inflammation.

I use metro gel 1%, prosacea gel, cetaphil cleanser and lotion. I use SPF when I go outside. As one person mentioned roscea.org is a good website as well as Rosacea your self-help guide by Brownstein and Shoemaker. With the gels I use, it really reduces the symptoms. According to the information I've read, if you change your diet you can almost eliminate the redness. I haven't went that far into it yet, but I really am interested in seeing what a diet change would do for me.
