Did Jim Ross know he was going to be drafted to Smackdown?

Would the WWE even do something like this to someone? Perhaps they felt JR is man enough to take it. He looked genuinely disappointed, and on Smackdown they gave the impression that he was drafted completely unaware. Still hard to believe he didn't know though.

Why would the WWE feel they had to keep it a secret then? Would JR have thrown a hissyfit?

I really wish they didn't move J.R. on Smackdown. ): I watch all three show's but Monday nights will not be the same without him. To me he looked like he didn't have a clue about it. He was surpise like everyone else!
I really don't like Micheal Cole's as commentator. His voice annoys the hell out of me. After an hour of hearing his voice I'm over him! I guess that what the mute button is for!

Cole is terrible. It seems like he doesn't actually believe anything he says. Not a patch on JR. Adamle's pretty awful, but at least he's trying.

He didn't know actually and it was shocking to say the least. I never thought that would happen and he didn't look happy but I do think he will try to make the best of it. If you think they gave the impression he was unaware, well he was actually. It was reported on the major sites like Pro Wrestling Insider or Wrestling Observer depending on which one you use he didn't know about it.

I also read his blog and that's what he said on his blog. It is weird that he wasn't told that he was going to go to smackdown.
