I started them a few weeks ago and find them pretty entertaining.
It has something to read classics that are almost a century old. I have read some other classics like animal farm and 1984 and such and it surprises me that allthough the spirit of the time is different, it still isn't so different from our time. There is still war and suffering and destruction and hypocrisy and so on... and there is still joy and love and happiness and helpfullness.
Allthough the packages may differ, we're all still the same.
But back to the books itself, the story's of tarzan from Edgar Rice Burroughs really surprised me. The way they are written is pretty expressive (nice descriptions) and still easy to read. (i'm reading them in english and english is not my native language, still i can go through them quite easily without having the feeling that it's simplified english)
I wonder if there are maybe some who have enjoyed reading them too, or maybe not enjoyed? and what the thoughts are about them?

It has been some years since I have read the Tarzan books but I did enjoy them a lot. Edgar Rice Burroughs is an easy read. I don't think that I ever got around to reading Animal farm but I have read 1984. It was pretty scary when I read it before 1984. I was required to read it in hight school. But I have actualy forgotten a lot of it.

i can imagine that 1984 must be a bit scary to read before that time. But it was ment a bit like that by the writer.
I've been born in 1985 so i couldn't possibly have read it before :p . I've had to read it in english class when i was 15, the first english book i ever read, but it was in a certain way enjoyable. :)
Allthough i like the more lighthearted story's of tarzan more. (if you skipp all the murdering in it :p )
