Here in the Philippines, Nokia is most likely used since it was the first cellular phone that is user-friendly. But now, may imitations of Nokia units are out in the market so you are not sure of its quality anymore. My dad gave me a brand new Nokia 6280 and after a month the bluetooth and radio broke. The battery is also busted it can't get charged. I was very disappointed because the span of its durability is so short. We have to admit that we sometimes drop our cellphones but that is why we pay a great deal because we are sure of its quality. I have a spare Motorola V3 Razr and it's what i use again for the mean time. I was very surprised that up to now it's working very smoothly even if i dropped it on the floor so many times, there has not been a time that i took it to the repair shop. I am planning to buy a new cellphone and the brand i prefer is a motorola unit.

east or west nokia is best. keep in mind before buying. nokia sets are cheap , durable, have high life time and easy to use. they have quality and more features than any other sets

the mother board of my nokia 6280 broke after a month of use. but before that it had a memory error since each time i store something it says memory full. good thing it was still under warranty so i did not have to pay anything for the service. the last time i went to nokia care to get it fixed it said it was already for pull out because the mother board cannot be fixed. the bluetooth and radio is not already working. since the problem was not covered by the warranty, it was advisable to just buy another unit since if i will pursue to replace the broken piece, it will cost me 80% if the original price of the cellphone.
i agree that the first generation of nokia phones such as 5110, 6150 and the like are very durable and long lasting.

what you are saying is right. there's always bad wheres good also. this defect is very very rare and may be due to some technical reason. so don't think much and buy nokia.

I used to say before that nokia is user friendly and then I switch to motorola because of the razor series. At first it's hard to use but eventually its easy and when Im used using a motorola phone it gave me a hard time to use a nokia phone. Anyways what im trying to say is that it depends on the user on how long he/she is using the unit. every gadget is user friendly as long as you have patience to learn the features of it. Right now Im stick with motorola because as what you have said its durability, I have my v3i years already and not even once it never got broken. Also i like the personalized text tone for each contact hehehe i know who is texting if its important or not.
