You know, maybe this thing with the continuous raises in gas prices, my be more beneficial than we think in the long run..
Yeah maybe it sux cuz it costs more to get from A to B but look at it like this...
Everyone here has heard of this thing called global warming... right?
Well, although inevitable, we can do something to keep the time from coming any sooner than what it needs...and that is what I am referring to as far as the gas prices...
Due to the height in gas prices less people are traveling as much in their cars..I know I am...lol
But the emissions, let out by one of our primary sources of transportation is not helping in the current rate the icecaps are melting and the expansion of the holes in the ozone...which are very dangerous...imagine stepping outside of your home into a microwave, that will cook you within seconds of stepping outside of your door...that is what will happen if the holes get big enough...if we don't seek other means of survival first..
No one really thinks about it too much but the layer of the atmosphere that keeps those microwaves out so that we can live when we go out into the sunlight is slowly but surely diminishing, and is adding to global warming, cuz if I remember correctly there is a hole over the antartic...which is slowly getting smaller, which is something I heard on the news earlier today...
This planet we live on is sacred, and we should treat it as such...It gives us life, and in return we should treat this planet with respect, cuz sooner or later, preferably later, our planet is going to look alot like mars... and hopefully we will have developed the means to populate another planet around our solar system to continue life as we know it in a manner of speaking...
When I begin making money from the jewelry I make or any money I make I am going to make donations to programs and such that will help prolong the life of our planet to insure the survival of our lives, and the lives of our children, and their children....
I dont know about you, but I love our planet, and I look up at the sky especially at night with all the stars... but I think to myself about the possibility that there can be a huge fireball falling thru the atmosphere against the blue sky, and a couple of seconds later hitting the earth, and either causing floods, or nuclear winter...it is possible for all the observations going on in the skies for something like that to be missed...but hopefully when something like that is caught there will be enough time to counter it...

On top of what I said in response, I would have hoped for a more educated response rather than just a little reference to a 70's song....come on...
After some thought...it is not a whole lotta crap as you say....
yea maybe I exagerated in the planetary thing but it can happen...think about it...you don't think that this planet is going to last forever do you? And when we reach the point of no return as far as we know it do you think we are just going to sit and let things happen to us? No... it is in our nature to fight for survival, as it is in any other animal... and when the time comes..which will not be in our lifetime, but maybe in our children's and grandchildren's...
If we do things right, we can out live the planet...as a species....this wont happen in our lifetime, but it is a possibility, and I stick by what I say...
I apologize for not giving any references ...

or you can check out....www.abcnews.go.com/Technology/Story?id=167844&page=11
Before you make any other uneducated comments to anyone else that may be smart enough to post something like this...
I am just trying to let everyone know in my own words what is going on, and again I apologize for not leaving any references.
There is more info out there, you just have to find it, and should before you make a comment on something like this with a stupid song reference...
