Indian team is never known for its fielding but inspite of appointing a fielding coach and recent influx of youngsters in the team, the fielding has left a lot to be desired. Why is this happening??? Even small teams like Zimbabwe set high standards in fielding???

I asked these questions because Fielding is one aspect of the game were nearly all the teams apart from India are very consistent. And its an important part of the game. But the ground fielding can be left alone, its the BASIC CATCHING that has been woeful. You cant miss those.

few youngsters stepped in and fielding has been improved but recently in few matches fielding is poor bcoz of busy schedule indians are playing continous cricket not getting much rest between the matches

I think indian fielding have improved much from the situations a few years back. This is mainly because now indian team contains lot of youngsters. So the fitness level of indian team has improved and it has reflected in the fielding.

There was a time when Indian missed more catches than making it.There were about 5 players who had to be hidden in the field but younger lot is better. Now the fielding if not excellent is bearbally good.

India is currently one of the better fielding sides in the modern cricket world. Players like Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Robin Uthappa, Mohammad Kaif, Rohit Sharma, Ojha, Dinesh karthick are known for their great fielding.
I agree with you, India has dropped few catches in the asia cup, but its not only India, all the nations have the same problem, they are dropping the catches. I personally think it is related somewhat with the conditions in pakistan. Wither lights are not good or its because of Karachi's humidity and heat that because of excess sweeting they are unable to hold the ball
Whatever the case is, do remember the 3 catches taken by debutant spinner ojha against Bangladesh especially the last catch taken of Alok kapali (i think so!)
so bro, dunt worry, India is doing superbly in the fielding. And since nobody is perfect, these kind of things do occur

I dont agree with you that indian fielding is poor. See players like yuvraj raina rohit sharma and many are already regarded as good fielders.
ya mistakes will happen we should not criticize for small mistakes.Zimbabwe is not considered as small team in terms of feilding.
