Hello my dear mylot friends. These days I have been using my eyes a lot before the laptop screen and sometimes I feel very uncomfortable in the eyes because of the eyestrain. The day before yesterday (June 27,08), I bought a bottle of eye drops from the school clinic. Now I use it many times a day to help protect my eyes from getting eyestrain. Do you use eye drops to relieve your eyestrain, please? Thank you for your response in advance.

Hi dear jisir, few weeks back, the unpleasant feeling of my right eye made me to feel uneasy and couldn’t concentrate on my work. Later I felt the inner corner of it was quite itchy. I felt much itchier and uncomfortable after scratching it. It was weird that the eye looked normal and no inflammation at all. So I decided to see the eye specialist. After checking carefully I was told that it was due to allergy. I then feel relived. A small bottle of eye drops and tables were given by the dispenser. After using the eye drop twice in the first day my right eye had recovered as normal. I didn’t take any table at all. Since then I felt relaxed and comfy as my right eye doesn’t feel the disgusting itchiness anymore. I still keep the bottle of eye drop for future use. Of course there is an expired date. Happy posting and take care.

Hello dear lkbooi. Yeah, when the eyes feel itchy, the more you rub them, the more itchy you may feel. I am used to eye drops and I think that I am very dependable on it. I also use it to make my eyes wide open each time I wake up in the morning or in the afternoon when I get up from my nap. Thank you for dropping in. I am very happy to have read your response. Good day and enjoy yourself.

Hi dear jisir, I didn’t rub my itchy left corner of my right eye with my hand but I scratched it with my clean little finger nail lol .... I utterly agree with you that the more we rub the itchier we feel. I think it is not healthy to be too dependent on eye drops as the frequent use of it would weaken the immune system of our eyes. Come on my friend, do you really use it to make your eyes wide open after you get up every time. I never come across such amusing story. I use the glasses which are specifically designed for protecting my eyes when using computer. Here in my place this is quite popular for computer users to such types of glasses. I believe this might help to sooth your eyes to some extent. Or you could seek medical advice. Happy posting and take care.

Hey William, I honestly dont remember the last time i used eye drops on my eyes. I think it is two years ago when some poisonous thing droped into my eye from a tree when we went mountain climbing/hiking. My eyes are not sensitive at all so they are alway normal and strainless.

Yes. Sometimes when my eyes feel tiring since I have faced the computer for a long time, then I will use the eye drops. I like to use the brand called Rohto. And it can even give me clear eyes. I love China

When i feel strain in my eyes.. i feel the burning sensation and i feel heaviness in my eyes.. then it is an indication for me to just quit from whatever i do.. before my pc.. I would rather wash my face with cold water, a few splashes of cold water on my eyes is really a massage for it.. and would go out for a refreshing walk.. and that's it and no drops i use..friend. Take care friend.

I used to have eyestrain as well. But I rarely use eye drops. Maybe you should take short breaks. Like if you spent more than an hour, you should look outside for 15 min and not just focus on the computer screen for 5 hours...that's just really bad for the eyes. The white background with the black writing also tires my eyes alot. You can change the settings and put something less flashy. I put blue with a mix of grey. I can work longer and it tortures me less. But really, when your eyes hurt, it means you need to rest them and not to just plurge some eyedrops and overwork them. Between, never scratch your eyes when it's itchy. Not only it increases the itchiness but it's bad for the eyes. the eyeball is really delicate so you have to be carefull...if you don't, it will cause you problems when you get old. Just ignore the itchiness and it will pass by in no time. or use a towel and press on the eyelid gently till it's gone.

Hello dear ladysakurax. It is a good idea to spend about fifteen minutes looking outside to have the eyes a good rest. Yeah, quite often I spend long hours in front of the laptop on my days off, because I don't want to spend my time on anything else, but on the Internet, which is good to my eyes at all. I thank you so much for the helpful suggestions. Take care, my dear friend.

Hello my friend, I have to say I am quite a cowardly Wolfie when it comes to the eyes, I can't bear putting drops into my eyes, I go all queasy, and just can't do it, weird I know but my eyes keep closing when the drops come down and they won't stay open! So what I do is to bathe my eyes in cold water, or take tablets where possible. I was prescribed eye drops but I gave up in the end because I couldn't get the drops any where near my eyes! I do use cucumber which works, believe it or not, slices of cucumber are meant to soothe tired and sore eyes and they are a better solution for me than eyedrops.

Hello my dear wolife. So nice to hear from you again in my discussion. It is good to know that cucumber helps cool and soothe tired and sore eyes as a good, but very natural solution. Yes, I know that there are some people who cannot suffer from the eye drops and find it hard to open their eyes for the drops. I have been used to this though. hehe. Take care, dear wolfie.

I seldom use eye drops. I use it when my eyes become very itchy or look reddish. We should be cautious and let our eyes rest for some short intervals. Looking at monitors for long hours is going to harm our eyes. I think for every hour, we should rest our eyes for 5 mins. It's best to look out of the window, to enjoy the greenish trees and lawns. If there is no greenish view outside your window, you can consider hanging some picture of greenish beautiful scenery on your wall near to your computer.

That's great! I don't have it in my house. But I do have some small piece of postcards depicting greenish scenery. So, when I feel that my eyes are tired, I will take a look at it to relax it for a moment. I seldom use the eye drop because I think it's expensive over here. Besides, it's not good exposing our eyes to chemical too often. Just my personal opinion.

Hi William Even I have been having the same kinda feeling for some time now. Even though I have anti glare protection on my specs it does feel uncomfortable sometimes. I go and wash my eyes in those times. I think eye drops to clear the eyes is a good idea. I must go and see an ophthalmologist.

It is good to use eye drops to replenish the moisture in our eyes even if we don't think we have a problem. My eye doctor told me to buy Systane. They aren't prescription, just regular eye drops. I have dry eye plus allergies, so I was told to use them several times a day. It is good that you are thinking about that because it can save you some trouble in the future.

Hi williamjisir! I really don't use eye drops yet. Whenever my eyes are getting tired, I usually close them for awhile and then take a break and just look outside our garden and look all the greeneries. I have been advised before that it is a way to relieve eye strain so I just do this often. but during the evening, I really take some time off and not make my eyes feel the strain. Maybe, in time I will be using eye drops but for now, the greeneries just works out for me just fine. Take care and God bless!

A good idea to have a look at the greeneries outside the window. I think that I must make full use of it as I have a beautiful river with greeneries outside my window. I love to see it and feel happy that I have a beautiful view outside my window so that I can relax my eyes for some time when getting eye strain. Thank you, dear faith friend. Take care.

hi williamjisir. I don't buy eye drops. I use contect lenses so I have special liquid for contact lenses. I use this liquid when I feel that my eyes are dry and I feel uncomfortable. I know that it would bee better to buy eye drops instead of using liquid for contact lenses, but I don't want to buy many things so I use this liquid for many purposes;). Have a nice day, jazgottt.

Hello dear jazgottt. Yeah, there are also many people around me that use the same as you do. I mean those who use special liquid for contact lenses. I have never used contact lenses and I will not use them as I don't like the feeling of putting them inside the eyes. They seem to be quite different eye drops, though they have advantages. hehe. Thank you for your nice response, dear friend.

I wore glasses in the past, but I feel uncomfortable wearing glasses so I decided to wear contact lenses only. I don't want to buy many products for eyes, so I use one liquid for everything;). Cheerio, jazgottt.

My eyes were allergic to dust till a few years ago. The redness and irritation caused by it made me very irritable and resulted in lack of concentration. Then on doctor's advice I too used eye drops regularly and it helped. There was no side effect and as a result now my eyes are perfectly okay and I don't have to use the eye drops anymore.

I used to use eye drops all day when I wore contact lenses! Now I only use them once in a while, and blink as well as rest my eyes when tired! It is good to limit computer use. Get up every now and then to walk around. Make sure you get enough sunlight!
