In honor of George Carlin, who was the host of the first airing of Saturday Night Live, they replayed that broadcast last night. It was good to see George as a young man but it was also so good to see some others who have also left this earth...John Belushi, Gilda Radner (who was my absolute favorite!) and Andy Kaufman. I have always thought that the original Not Ready For Prime Time Players were the best cast the show has ever had and watching them in action again last night only reinforced that opinion. Did anyone else catch the show and what are your thoughts on that blast from the past?

I wish I had seen that but I was at a party last night. I didn't even think about looking before I left to see if SNL would be doing something or else I would've recorded it.
This week one of the HBO channels has been doing a tribute to George. For several hours a night, they've been showing all the specials he's done for them over the years. I'm sure going to miss him.

My husband and I watched it. It was really a blast from the past. I've never been a George Carlin fan, but my husband is. We did record the show, since it was the very 1st Saturday Night Live.
It brought back memories of the 70's. The clothes and props. It also reminded me of the interior style of homes.
And lets not forget the HAIR! We saw quite a bit of that in the audience!
Everyone looked so young, didn't they?
