why is wanted rated so high?

wanted- the heavily advertised and anticipated action thriller featuring angelina jolie. this movie looks very good and i plan to see it. the only thing is why is it rated R. ive seen the add like 500 times and i dont see whats wrong with it that could make it rated R?? help?

It is a very violent and bloody movie, ala bullets goring their way through people's heads and spraying blood everywhere. Very heavy profane language as well, lots of f-bombs in the narration.

I went to see it last night, and it would have been better off if they'd left out the three f-bombs and had it rated PG-13. It wasn't a bad movie, even if it reminded me of a paranoid schizophrenic rant, but I think they tried a bit too hard.
