Have you ever burned yourself while cooking??

Ouch, one day while heating a eggplant parm in the oven, when I took it out, the towel slipped from my hand and the whole thing hit the floor. When it splattered some of it landed on my leg and feet. Boy did that hurt. I still have an ugly burn mark on my leg from it. What has been your cooking accident?

Several times and boy let me tell you did it hurt! The latest though was a stupid move on my part. I used a grill pan and had PAM cooking spray on it and when I was done cooking, I took it off the stove while still hot and placed in the sink and ran the water, well the oil and water splattered everywhere and burned me as well as made a mess all over the floor that I just vaccuumed and mopped right prior.

I HAVE been oven burned form cooking lasagna! OUCH! Run the burn right away under COLD water and out ice on it right away! There is an herb that comes in gel form called ARNICA to keep in the refrigerator. WalMArt has it in the herb section..or the health food store nearby has it. It helps bruises and burns heal well.

I have gotten burned a couple of times. The last time that I got burned wasn't so bad and not so big. You could barely notice it. But I was doing some french fries in the oven and when they were ready I started to take them out with a cloth. My hand slipped and then I got burned on my first finger. It was like a red line going down. It wasn't too big or too little but it did hurt for a while. I was kind of tired when I was doing that so I did feel the pain but I didn't pay it no mine.

Yes! Nothing serious though, just burns on the hand and fingers from picking up hot things or coming into contact with a hot tray. an annoying thing I sometimes do is taste hot food and burn my tongue, which means i can;t drink anything for a while! Cheese gets very hot!

Indeed, cheese can get very hot. I know first hand when the eggplant parm got on me, it actually adheres.

Yes, I used to burn myself quite often. The pot holder would slip and I'd have a burn, or I'd stir something to hard and splash the hot food on myself, or just without thinking reach into the oven and grab either the rack or the pan without potholder. (dumb huh?) I keep an aloe vera plant in the kitchen. First run cold water on the burn to keep it from going deeper. When it's cooled down, I just break off a leaf from the plant and squeeze the inner gel on the burn, or if it's bad I split the leaf and lay it gel side down on the burn and wrap it to keep it in place for an hour or so.
