Personal safety product; pepper spray, stun gun

I'd like to know if anyone has these products. Does it make you feel safer? Has anyone had to use something like this? Do you have a reason not to use them? I'm asking this because my father is thinking about selling personal saftey products and I'd like to know what other people think? I am debating on getting a pepper spray pen or lipstick spray or getting a stun gun. Even if I never have to use the stun gun, I think if you are being followed and just happen to let the stun gun go off; will it deter the aggressor? What do you think?
