Bruce Almighty vs Groundhog Day

Bruce Almighty was such a wonderfully, touching, funny story about a man who is falling apart at the seams. Not getting what he feels he deserves. Angry at the world for not giving him the big break he wants. He keeps asking for God's help, to give him a sign, and all the while he misses every single sign God is sending him. Finally, God gives Bruce the "keys to heaven" and lets him run it all for a while. Things go haywire of course, until eventually he rights his own wrongs.
Interestingly, the story is not unlike Groundhog day in which Bill Murray discovers that every morning he gets up, it is still Groundhog day. After spending some time taking advantage of this quirk, he realizes that he has to do something good in order for his life to be complete, and move on.
Both movies are incredibly well done with very solid story lines. The themes are similar in that it is man vs himself. Battling his own issues, he has to overcome his own selfishness in order to move forward in life and get the things he didn't necessarily know he wanted.
Both Jim and Bill play the lead characters so believably well in these movies. You really feel for both of them each and every time they make a blunder. You feel it in your gut when they say, or do the wrong things. When the actor is able to do that to you, that is a sign of good acting.
I loved both of these movies and I could sit down once a week and watch both of them.

I have seen Bruce Almighty and it is a very funny movie ,and what would expect from a comical genius like Jim Carey,I have never seen Groundhog Day but it sounds like it would be a very hilarious movie, and maybe me and my fiance will get the chance to watch it one day.
