Do you believe in Near Death Experience?

Many people have claimed to experience Near Death Experience i.e NDE. There are many research organisations around the world studying on this topic. But is it just to get public attention? I mean do people report their NDE to come ton the tv? But what about the young children who also have reported NDEs? Why are NDEs different for the people with different cultural background?

I would suggest you go to your nearest library and search for books concerning the subject.... I brought home my first book about 2 months ago and since then I cannot stop to bring more and more books concerning the same subject again and again. Dr. Raymond Moody's experiments and Dr. Melvin Morse's experiments with children describe how exactly they tried to scientifically prove these NDE's. Great reading it was for me. The main point that comes again and again in these books is this - when we get a full life review, we experience all the emotions of our life ourselves as well as the emotions of the person we reacted with. It is a direct experience of how well we behaved or not behaved with others. And ultimately, we are shown that love is what matters and knowledge comes next. Nobody seems to emphasize anything else more. Even the most faithful people in one religion seem to understand that their denominations are not even considered and it is only how they live their life with love that is considered. And this is what all the persons who experience these NDE's come back and give real importance to in their remaining lifetime. I would say even if you are terribly skeptic about the whole affair, atleast the objective of the NDE seems highly commendable.. don't you think?

I hope we do get those answers soon enough. Right now I am reading "The True Story of Hinduism(I don't remember the exact title it is something that gives that idea) by Swami Prakashanand. I read a lot of books about Hinduism by western authors and although I do agree that there are some points which need to be given a second thought about, those books didn't make me feel any better. So, I have settled to one written by a spiritual master, because I feel Hinduism is all about being spiritual in our lives and only a spritual master can bring it all out. Anyway, don't forget to inform us when you got the answer.. and thank you very much for the best response.

You are right, the interpretations differ. And you are right about the karmas too. But still I feel that some things does not fit. I would like to research the NDE cases experienced by children. Infact children under the age of 5. That would shed some genuine light. Grownups under the influence of their religion and culture interpret the experience in a different way. By the way I read in a website about the NDEs Hindus have. Only two cases and both of them have seen yamdoot. Infact one claims that his foot was cut as a punishment, but later the yamdoots realized that, they punished the wrong person and stitched his foot again and sent him back to earth. This sounded a bit funny. Just give a search about Hindu NDEs and you may stumble upon this story.

ha..haa I can understand how you feel. Don't woory, I am sure we will get some answers one day. By the way did you read the book 'Many Lives Many Masters' by Weiss. It was great. You may find some facts there which coincide with the hindu belief. Its basically about reincarnation and true story written by a psychiatrist. Try reading it. You will like it.

I also felt this topic amazing. I have watched many NDE videos on youtube, and is reading "life after life" by Moody. But I still have a little doubts and want to see more proof of OUT OF BODY EXPERIENCES. If the OOBE is not hallucination, then the fairy tale about soul thing could be true.

I think this kind of experience cannot comes with the empiric proof. It just a subjective experience, and depend to ones believe. The large number of witness doesn't count as an empirical proof of one fenomena.

Yah you are right. It just depends on what we believe.

Maybe the first phase of NDE, i.e. the out of body experience can be proved to some degree.
