is tv programmes help to the public?

It depends what the public is looking for. Documentaries and news programmes can provide information and educate people; comedy shows cheer people up; some programmes (though not many these days)entertain people; I suppose soaps probably provide some sort of 'escapism' for some people. People tend to talk about things they've seen on TV so maybe, as well as preventing conversation it also stimulates discussion?

Some documentaries are, and some entertainment shows. Entertainment might be really good for the public. But then there are shows that I feel are a menace to anyone. Like reality shows where kids are exposed to Moms possible new man.
