Who is going to a baseball game for the 4th of July?

My family traditionally goes to a baseball game to celebrate the fourth of July. Since the minor league team nearby isn't at home on this 4th, we aren't going to do it. Instead, I will probably be going with some friends of mine to see the Atlanta Braves play. It doesn't get much better than a good baseball game and some postgame fireworks to celebrate the birthday of America. Who else is going to watch America's pastime?

Unfortunately I won't be going to a baseball game this fourth of July. I would love to be going, and usually I do catch a game any chance I get, not just the fourth of July. Work calls this year. Hope you have a great time at the Braves' game!

I hate that you have to spend the time working. That is really a shame. The last Braves game I went to they were down a run in the 9th and made a comeback with a McCann game winning broken bat single. Hopefully they will do just as good this time. I hope you have a great fourth even if you have to work.

Not us. We will be in our back yard. Our city fireworks display goes off right over our house. Best seats in town. No hassle with parking. Or even leaving the house.Just a well positioned lawn chair and a cold drink!

I can't argue with those plans. That sounds like great times. We live in a smaller town so normally any fireworks displays that are at the baseball games we go to are just as nice as the ones our town shoots off. I hope you have a great time!

Sorry this is way past your post and date in the question, but I went to baseball game on July 4. My girlfriend knows I'm a huge baseball fan and so she got us tickets to the game for my birthday (yes my birthday is on the 4th). It was great, other than the fact it was hot as all can be it was a lot of fun. It was really packed and they had fireworks at the end of the game. It was a pretty cool show. The best part was the actual game itself. The Rockies were playing the Marlins and were down 12 to 3 at one point in the game. The Rockies came back from a 9 run deficit to win it 17 to 16. Probably the best baseball game I've been too.

Very nice. I actually have a friend who has a birthday on the 4th of July so it isn't as weird as you might think. I remember seeing that game on SportsCenter. It must have been really exciting to watch in person. The Braves went up early and stayed ahead at the game we went to. They ended up winning 6-2. It was a good game, but not nearly as exciting as yours.

I will be spending the day with my kids. We will probably grill and set off a few small fireworks in the back yard. Nothing too exciting. I might cave and take them to a fireworks show in town.

That sounds like a nice Fourth of July. You really don't have to do anything big to celebrate. That sounds like a good time.

I only wish I could go to see the Red Sox. I have just found out that apparently the cost of Red Sox tickets has dramatically gone up. I agree completely with you about there being nothing better than a good baseball game and a firework display.
