Hello. My husband and I go to Las Vegas 1 or 2 times a year. We will be going soon and we haven't decided which show to see yet. We've seen the more popular ones: Beatles' Love, Elton John, Celine (no longer there), Folies Bougere (sp), Mystere, Zumanity, etc. Do any of you have any recommendations for some of the newer stuff out there: Bette Midler, Barry Manilow, "O" (we haven't seen that one),or any of the shows at the Wynn or the Palazzo (I think that's the name)? I would really appreciate your ideas and suggestions. Thanks. PearlGrace

I would recommend the Blue Man Group. I have seen them and they are fantastic. Also you might see if Mama Mia is there. I hear that it is a terrific show. I can't wait to see them myself.

Hi ersmommy1. Wonderful recommendation! We actually saw the Blue Man Group in Las Vegas about 4 or 5 years ago, and I agree with you 100%. Excellent show. I like the suggestions of Mamma Mia, as people seem so excited when they exit that show at the Mandalay Bay! And, of course, Abba's music can't be beat! If only I could talk my husband into seeing a musical... Have you heard about Meryl Streep starring in the "Mamma Mia" film due to be released? That will be great also. Thanks for your ideas. I am seriously considering Mamma Mia. PearlGrace

I have never been to las Vegas PearlGrace but it sounds absolutely wonderful! My sister stopped over there a few years back as she returned to the UK from New zealand and loved it. She said she saw some wonderful shows but was really disappointed as Pod Stewart was appearing the night after she left and she would have loved to have seen him. As it was her 50th birthday coming up and he was touring I took her to see him in Glasgow and she loved it although it was not the same as seeing him in Vegas! Have a great time and do let us know about all the shows you do see! xxx

Hello mummymo. Las Vegas is a great time and a wonderful getaway trip! It's the one place we don't think for a second about our work. I bet Rod Stewart put on a great show in Glasgow! He is frequently in Las Vegas although we've never seen him. We have seen many, many shows and performers there, though. Thanks for the well wishes and I'll share any info about shows we see, if we see them. Thanks for your response. PearlGrace

It's been a long time since I have been there...I met my daughters out there and we went to the comedy club at Harrah's.....and it was good......but went on a cruise later that year and saw the same comedians! LOL....go figure!

Oh, that is too funny! The same comedians? I do love the comedy shows and over the years, we've been to several. Not that one at Harrah's, though. Take care.

If you haven't seen "O", you should. I usually don't go see things that i can catch at home, "Blue Man Group" have touring groups that go to different city every 2-3 years, so does Mama Mia and Lion King. One show I would love to see is Danny Gans before he passed away. Saw Penn and Teller at the Rio, it was entertaining but my date almost fell asleep because she thought it was dark and slow moving. Le Reve at the Wynn was good. Saw Lance Burton a couple of years ago, but it's more for family with children. "V" at the Venetian was suppose to be ok, but I haven't seen it.

Thanks for your suggestions. My question was meant for our trip last year. However, we plan to go within the next 4 months or so, so I will keep your suggestions in mind. I think I'd like to see "O" next. Le Reve has not gotten great reviews so I am interested in pursuing more information about that one, given your comments. We loved Blue Man Group. We saw Mamma Mia in London in April and it was fantastic!
