Do you ever feel like your becoming depressed?
Lately I feel like I'm in some kind of depression state
and i'm not sure how to make it stop or to stop myself from fully falling into it.. I'm not 100% sure why I've feeling this way.. I have some ideas with all the junk thats going on in my life right now but I can't stop those things from happening and I can't change them. =\
I really don't wanna get depressed but i'm not sure if I can stop it or not... Maybe if things start looking up.. but what if they don't?
does anyone have any tips? How do you get yourself out of depression?

Part of depression is a chemical change in your brain. It goes back to normal when you recover. Strange, huh? If you think you're becoming depressed, it will help to do something completely different-you may be in a rut ( like me!) and need a change. Go to a movie, take a walk, go window shopping or something. Visit the local humane society and pet some animals.
I hope you feel better very soon!

I kind of know how that is. When my boys were small, we lived way out in the desert and I felt so isolated. I'd get down sometimes-well, a lot!-but there wasn't much I could do about it. I started to garden and that helped. Just preparing the "soil" took awhile and kept me busy.
Don't you work in a library? What about your co-workers? Spend extra time before or after work walking? Or invite someone to share lunch with you.

That's true my friend. Sometimes we get depressed out of something we don't know and that's really difficult. It is normal though so that's a good start. Then, I would just think of what makes me happy to at least ease depression. Give thanks for everything.
Usually though, if we don't know exactly what the reason it, it has a tendency to be relieved faster when thinking positive. If it is specific about something, the best way is to face it and move on. Take care!

I have felt that same way, Sameroad. It is a bad feeling when you can feel yourself slipping and cannot seem to stop it. Depression is horrible and sometimes I feel like there is no hope. For me the best way to fight it is to be around people that make me feel like I am important. My wife really does a great job of lifting my spirits. It is very rare that anyone knows when I am down and out. Best wishes.

What's your weather like at the moment, sameroad? I ask this because I find I feel down in winter, even though there's often nothing to be depressed about. I think it's good to write down the happy things in your life, and to try making your surroundings as pleasant as possible. Rearrange your furniture or cut some pretty flowers that smell nice! Getting out for a walk is a lovely thing to do, and I find if I start walking in a bad mood, I'm always feeling much better by the time I get home again. If you can't change the bad things, it's best to just learn to accept them and make the best of the situation. I'm sure things WILL start looking up - and if you stay positive, it's easier to see the nice things in life. Good luck!

I've been depressed before.I felt like nobody cares for me and i was carrying the whole world.I have nowhere to run.I never had any family. They all passed away.At least if they were still alive i could be able to express my problems to them but i was alone facing the darkest side of my life.I had thought of ending my life but i have an angel that gives me the reason to stay alive. It was my daughter that gave me strenght to survive and my faith to God.Ask His guidance and he will guide you.Be strong!Think of the positive things that happened or still may happen in your life.Go to a place that give you peace for awhile.Beach was my choice before and i stayed overnight or more because it made me think well and the peaceful and calm ocean would reflect to myself and have someone who will listen to your feelings.

I suffered from severe depressions for about 26 years. Here, the psychiatric department and therapy is not that well developed. So nobody could help me. The only treatment I took for my problem was a little bit of Pranic healing, some yoga, and some NLP. For me, it worked fine, and I feel perfectly normal now. :) If you feel you are getting depressed, nip it in the bud. I speak from experience when I say that depression is a terrible waste of time. Life is too beautiful to waste it in getting depressed. Just make up your mind to be happy, and I guarantee you will be happy.
Cheers and wish you luck!

Problems are a common factor in every bodys life. They cannot be avoided. But when a problem comes, try solving it to the best of you ability and dont bother about the results. Leave it on God. We cannot control life. So why should we worry about it. We are here to execute our duties and thats all we can do. If you are a God believer, try meditating on him everyday. I am not a Christian, so I cannot comment more. But I can tell you what I do. I keep telling myself the following- This world is temporary, all relationships are temporary. No matter how hard I try I cannot control the factors of life. The only permanent relationship is the relationship between me and God. It will never change. It can never change. So instead of wasting time on temporary stuffs, I should focus on the permanent ones. I should try to please God since its impossible to please everybody. I will just do all my duties to the best of my ability but surrender the results to God. He will give me what I deserve.
If you are an atheist, you should belive in yourself and rejuvinate your confidence everyday. Think positive all the time.
Worrying wont change anything. Instead it will secrete bad hormones in your body and destroy you. So just stop worrying. Fix your mind on something positive.

Hi sameroad, don't worry. You can STOP depression. Just believe in yourself. These problems will not be there forever. They come and go. Be patient. I read in a book on psychotherapy that when we try to suppress a strong emotions like guilt, anger, fear, regret, lust, hatred and etc. those emotions come out as depression(not always, sometimes it may come out in another form). May be you have experienced something terrible and those strong emotions are hidden in your sub concious mind. Dig it out. Talk or write about your problem to a friend. Those emotions will come out and you will find relief. You can also try Samaritans. Go to a search engine to find the nearest branch. They will not reveal your personal information to a third party. If you don't like to go there write a letter about your problem. I underwent training at one of their branches as a volunteer and we were given strict instructions on privacy of the callers. I couldn't serve them due to my tight schedule. But I know that they can help you. Always look at the positive things in your life. Don't allow this depression to ruin it. Good Luck!
