Okay every since Window's vista came out all I've heard is that windows vista is bad. I have it and I find no problems with it. So what I would like to know is do you guys think that Window's vista is bad or good. Also why do you think it's bad or not?
Also what problems(if there are) does vista have?

Well that depends on yout usage. Many people have said that vista is bad. But in my opinion vista is an overkill. Its made for high end personel desktops, which i think not many people would want. It has very nice graphical user interface compared to the other Operating systems. But Ubuntu which is linux based operating system , more or less can match up to it. Many gamers have reviewed claiming that vista has extonsihing graphics, i too agree becuase i have seen it for myself. Makes want to buy it with a good graphic card. But the price is a killer. Overall i think vista was released with the wrong idea in mind though. It is great for gamers with its directx10 features but for normal usage i think it is an overkill.

You should do your own research on ubuntu. Make sure all there are third party tools available for your needs. I am not a linux user, becuase too many releases are available and they are not compatible with many softwares. For causual people who just surf and do spreadsheets it would better go with ubuntu. Before installing it is best to keep a backup or do a partitio on you hard disk to install ubuntu to test it out.

Hi zBlade, nice name!
I'm not into vista yet but I have tried to install it once during the beta series. I love to have one but my machine can't handle it. I honestly believe that it's just an OS adjustment period that is why there are so many floating negative remarks about it. Give it some more time and users and software will adjust to it, by that time too machine that are considered high-end today will be so cheap and since MS officially stop selling Win XP, we have no choice but to switch to Vista. Welcome to myLot and just enjoy posting.)

Yeah when microsft releases its windows 7 to public than vista would have already been the preferred choice. It was just like when windows xp was released. Initially people did not like it and claim that windows 2000 was better. But now after the service packs and adjustment, many claim windows xp to be the better choice. Same thing for vista as well, its a matter of time.

Thanks for the welcome. Also yea I have to agree with you on that one. By the time that happens though, Microsoft will probably have the beta of a new version. The problem is with Vista is that I think they tried to put to much on graphics and less on performance.

well i have used the os for a very small amount of time and that is so cause i never like it. i dont want to compromise on the performance over the looks of an operating system. i have other imporant user of the resources of my computer on software likes maya and other high end softwares. and that is why i dnt prefer it. but for those who are normal users who surf a bit and use word excel; and other small office application for them i think it is an ok type but still you will feel that the system is slow as it will not work at its full force. vista uses a lot of the potrion for its own.

I suggest you to use winxp, vista needs a high pc config and you use it uncomfortable, you should try it and you will know what os is better.

I've tried using Vista but I switched back to XP. Performance wise, it's good. What I don't like about it, however, is the color combination of the themes! It's too bright for me. The layout is similar to Mac but it does not have the posh simplicity of of the latter.

Vista is still has a few compatibility issues with programs. But Vista was also like XP was when it first came out. You just have to wait until the bugs are hammered out, but until that happens Vista is a little quirky.
That being said I'm using Vista and I have not encountered anything that is really a problem. You may just have to adjust some settings and any program will run.
I would not remove Vista it may cause you grief especially if you are not tech savvy. You may end up in a position where you can't find the right drivers to get the computer to work properly on XP. Also all the preloaded software on your computer will be gone if you don't have the original discs (you should really make sure it comes with the software discs).
Not only that but you paid for vista why waste your money?
And as for games not working that is not really true if you are having trouble running a game it probably just means you have to change a few compatibility settings. So many people are so quick to pass judgment.

i hate to tell everyone that's running Microsoft, but unless you can maintain your XP, which i'm going to try to do, you'll HAVE to switch to Vista, because Microsoft says they are no longer going to make or support XP.
