My husband suffers from cluster headaches. He has this disease since he was about 18 years old. A patient who has cluster headaches will have periods of time where he has different headache attacks a day. My husband for instance has two active periods per year (one in springtime, early summer, and the second one during the holidays). During these active periods that last around 6 to 8 weeks, he will have up to 6 headache attacks a day, that last between 30 minutes and 1.5 hours. Those attacks are very severe. He tried a lot of medication, a lot of them work a few times, after that it's like his body has gotten used to them and they won't work anymore.
I was wondering if there where others on this site who know this condition and who have tried alternative therapies that worked. It's a long shot, but who knows, maybe some of those 69 per 100 000 people can be found here.

That's too bad. I have never heard of this before and I must say it's terrible to have it. When I get a headache I have to lie down or take a nap otherwise, my headache won't go.
I will try to look it up on the net and see what I will learn about this terrible thing. I'm sorry to hear about your husband experiencing it.

It really is a terrible thing. On the net you can find a lot of information. I started a site myself not so long ago: www.clusterheadachetreatment.net You can always visit this site. When you have a cluster headache, you can't lie down or take a nap. The only thing you want to do is knock your head against a wall, just to get that terrible pain go away.
Thanks for your response

Wow, is this what you call a niche website? It's a cool site with lots of useful information. Thank you for sharing.
Oh no, so you can't lie down if you get this type of headache? It sounds like a migraine. Is it related? I remember my friend in elementary told me about this and she said that she wanted to bang her head on the wall when she gets it. I hope you get to find the solution very soon.

Really? That's interesting. I have never heard of the therapeutic claim of banana peel on headaches and stuff like that. I love bananas and this is a very useful information. Thanks for sharing it.
I believe in reflexology. I have always wanted to learn this method but I think I am not very much capable becaus I have lame fingers and wrist. In fact when my cousin needed some massage I use my elbow or my heels to massage him. LOL!

I suffer from many headaches, but I don't know what type they are. I always assumed they were either from my bad vision or from stress. I got my vision checked out and spoke with my optamologist and am pretty sure it's not from the bad vision.
I also tried getting more sleep and improving my diet, but it seems more days in the month than not I get a bad headache. Usually they last only about 20 minutes to an hour, but once in a great while I suffer for 3 hours, 4 hours, and sometimes even longer than that. It's horrible! Sorry I have not been very helpful, but, as you have stated, hopefully someone here will see this discussion and be able to offer some good advice.
