I started reading when I was in the 6th grade, I started off with the Nancy Drew series and I went on to read a lot of books that some of them I could not remember anymore. But some books really have a way of making an impact into your sensibilities that you can't forget it eventhough you've read it ages ago!!! So what books have made an impression on your reading tastes? I know Shockwave by Clive Cluster was written sometime ago but I still remember the whole plot of the book as if i've read it today... So how about giving me some idea on what books to read!!!

"It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man with a good fortune is in need of a wife."
This is the first line of my all-time favorite book, Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. Set in an English countryside, it is a social satire of the Victorian that is still relevant today. More than a story of love, it is for me a story of women's struggle for acceptance in a society that undervalues her worth.

That's also nice to read. But have you tried reading science fiction books? Or you prefer magazines about science and technology? like PC magazine or something... Hey National Geographic is fun to read too!!! It has a lot of explanations for things that we don't normally know about....

Two books I have read this year that have impacted me in a big way and they are written by an author called Phillipa Gregory. The first book is called "The Other Boleyn Girl" this is a fantastic book, the way it is written, the story, everything and it was a book that I was really sad to see the end of. Luckily there was a sequel which is called "the Boleyn Inheritance" and although it is not as good as the first it is still a book that I hate to put down. Again it is well written and a brilliant read.

I started reading at secondary school. At that time I particularly enjoyed the books written by Enid Blyton, particularly the The Famous Five series. These are the happy memories of my childhood and they have no impact on my current life. However, now that I enjoy thrillers, particularly legal thrillers written by John Grisham. His books has such an impact on me that I started studying law. The Testament which is one of Grisham's book is one of my favourite as the writer brings the story out of the USA to the Brazillain jungle of Panthanal. At time, books can indeed have impacts on someone's life.

Hi!
I guess I started reading Books from my preschool.LOL!!
Started with reading pictures books and then fairy tales. I used to read children's magazines and stuff like that.
Then in my sixth grade started to read Shakespeare plays. And the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys collection. I still love them. Then came the Harry Potter books. They were great too. But now I've started reading Romance novels too. I really thought that they were too boring earlier. But now I don't know how I'm reading them. But I'm starting to love romance novels too.LOL!!
Have anyone read Harlen Coben's thrillers. They are awesome. Just give it a try people

My favorite books are "Attitudes that attract success" and "A pocketful of promises". The first one tackle what attitudes that may help us in whatever situation we are in, in life. As in the working world, skills and abilities are one thing, but what matters most to most of the employers is attitude.
The latter one is an inspirational book which gives you strength, and peace on different challenges and even good experiences when we are thankful for all the blessings that we have.
