We all have varying ideas of what the word 'God' means. In one sentence, explain what it means to you. Be as clear as possible.

One sentence responses in MyLot will not earn the responder or the poster very much by the way of income so it's a bit futile to ask for one sentence responses. However I will try to explain what it means to me. I am not a member of any organised religion as I believe those are man-made functions and nothing to do with any higher power wahtever you perceive that to be. My one sentence answer would be 'A higher power beyond the self stretching to the infinite'. I hope this makes some sort of sense.

In order to earn money and stay true to the discussion topic; please give a brief backround of your religious life or lack thereof before writing your one sentence, this will help others understand your veiw. Thanks MichaelJay

I always hesitate to use the words "God" and "Religion". I'm a Pantheist so I don't believe in a creator who has a gender or is interactive with us. I don't believe in a heaven or hell or in divine punishment or favor. I believe in the reverence and awe I feel when I stare into the starry skies or walk thru the woods or see a picture from the Hubble Space Telescope. To sum up in one sentence what I would consider "God"... The totality of the Universe and the natural laws that govern the connections between all existance.

In all honesty, I can sum it up in one word actually...god to me means NOTHING...Seriously....now thats not to say however that I think believing in god in general or having god mean something to someone on any level is a bad thing...I'm sure, in fact I know, that to many ppl god means a great deal and probably CAN'T be summed up in one sentence...thats great...for them...for me though, it means nothing and thats great too...

God is the ocean of love, whereas we are drops of the ocean.

GOD is the strongest and permanent entity, having no other partners, parents and children..........None has the right to be worshipped except Him alone ,without any associates or mediators.......He has created us so that we can recognize and worship Him alone.......and He has created this world for us.......He hates polytheism and declares it as an unforgivable and most heinous sin in the last divine book... Please donot mind it is very difficult to explain GOD in one sentence...............such responses are also not acceptable by Mylot...........

god stands for generator, operator, destroyer, means god is everything or in other word: there is no "not god".
