I have always wanted to learn to speak spanish, not so much for the small town I live in but if I go somewhere. I know if you can translate you can make a job out of it.That would be fun.

My first language is English but I can speak a few words of Spanish. Foreign language was required in school so I took a couple of years of Spanish. Don't remember much but could get by if someone spoke it slowly. I can remember the important words such as bathroom..lol

Yeah you could make a pretty cool career out of it. I know Spanish because I'm hispanic and I've been speaking it for like forever. I learned English when I was really young. Then in high school I took french for three years and in college so far I have taken one year of Italian. I really like languages but I don't want to make a career out of it. I just learn them for fun and so that I can learn the culture of other people.

I think it would be cool to speak Spanish too. I run into people who speak it and think it would be nice to know what they are talking about. I have seen some software that helps you learn different languages but I wonder how much effort it would take or how effective it is. I do speak other languages though. When I drink too much I speak drunken-ese! Does that count?

Here in South Africa we have 11 official language, which English is one of them. There's Pedi, Tswana, Sotho, Xhosa, Zulu, Afrikaans, Ndebele, Shona, and Venda. I can speak at least Zulu, Xhosa, English, Afrikaans, Tswana and Sotho. I can also speak Igbo which is a Nigeria official language. My husband is a Nigerian but grew up, studied and worked here in South Africa. He taught me their language. It's really fun learning a language and it's great to know more than your mother tongue for communication purpose.
