Spread the word around. If it is cheap to do so, put an add in the newspaper. Mention that you have openings for your daycare service. Make simple fliers and stick them up somewhere. Go to a shopping center and ask the manager if it would be okay if you could put it somewhere, because you are just wanting to get the word out. Or perhaps, if you are afraid that would draw too much attention, then find a smaller, local-type store and ask the manager or owner if you could post up a flier there.

I have friends who have told me that 'My Baby Can Read' program actually works. Can't recall offhand exactly how much it costs, but I tell you what a daycare center for toddlers willing to teach children to read, that would make it so in the future you could fill opening simply through word of mouth I would think. I'm considering doing the same thing actually, can you tell me what a good price to charge would be? After looking information over online I was considering 5 dollars an hour. Or is there a better way to work out how much to charge? Ultimately in a month or two I want to get that 'My Baby Can Read' program and work that into the daily schedule. Reading, singing, playing outdoors, coloring, flash cards, My Baby Can Read Program, etc...

Everyone else has posted most of what I would've said. Posting a flier in the local supermarket (all the ones around here have those bulletin boards where you just have to ask the store if it's ok you put it there). The local newspaper would be good, too, I'm not sure how much adspace is where you live but if it's cheap enough that'd be a nice option. I think one of the most important ways to spread the word, is always word of mouth. Let your existing clients know you have openings (then they could spread the word to people they know). Anyone who you have watched their kids for before are a great way to spread the word. They have first hand knowledge of how good of a job you do, so they can spread that knowledge around. Also let any of your family or friends know, because you never know, someone they know might need daycare. You could also check any local schools, camps, or other business' in town and see if they'd let you post fliers.

Place an add on Craigslist, it is free. They have a childcare scetion on their . Or you can post flyers around your community and hae previous and current clients let everyone they know . Hope this helps you . Cheryl
