There is a sort of destiny in the universe, but it's not conscious or planned, or for any purpose. Things simply happen. There is no free will in atoms and molecules, because they function according to predetermined natural laws. People are comprised of molecules that behave according to deterministic processes, and with no evidence of something like a soul, there's no alternative but to see free will as a useful illusion.
I don't live my life actively thinking about determinism, but there's no real evidence against it.

It depends on belief...according to me, it's man who makes destiny but there are many who believe that it's destiny which makes mankind.. I think it's our actions which determine our future...

Our "book" certainly was written before we were born and the author is ta-dah us. If you believe in Karma then it is the simplest explanation in the universe that you could think of. All our actions have reactions and when we die without experiencing those potential reactions then these are stored as our "destiny". I prefer to call it our DNA or genetic code. People who don't believe in birth and rebirth are going to have a big problem explaining a lot of things and their cosmology is going to be filled with beings and mechanisms to explain this and that. Karma works for me and it is really just an exotic word for physics or science. Cheers!!

I don't beelieve in destiny. But sometimes i do. I'm really confused many times. So confusing...really. but I don't want to dwell on
that matter too much...making me crazy. Instead
I focus on the positive side of life. At least I'm
on the safe side...
