Taking a cat for a walk?

I have a problem with my pet. Well, actually this one was abandoned by his mother with his sister and we had no other option but to look after them. After the death of my pet dog I really didn't like the idea of taking a replacement. Now of course I consider this one as my pet as well as a friend. The problem is this, at the beginning he went around playing with his sister and climbing trees. But now he is just waiting near the door. Eating, sleeping and waiting. Sometimes I feel like tying a rope around his neck and taking the fellow for a walk. What do you think I should do? How can I help this one? He is in good health.

i do take my cats for walk. i have two cats now. and they always love it whenever i take them outside. they already know that we're going out whenever they see me holding thei leashes. they do by the way have those long leashes like dogs have. about 3 to 4 meters each so they can go further.
most of the time, i just sit down on the grass outside and let them walk a little away from me. when they are lazy, they just lay or sit right by my side. really good bonding with them.

Hi, thanks for the response. It is very good that you are taking your cats for a walk. But where I live it is almost impossible. Anyway, I might as well do that if I can force myself to use leashes. I always touch my neck and ask myself whether I can tolerate leashes on me. The answer is no, I really wouldn't like it. I don't think I will ever be able to use leashes to pull them. Well you may think I am out of my mind. I think it's a disease. Should find a cure for myself before I help my pet.
