Do you invite out of guilt??

We are in the process of having a get together with small group of friends. These are people that are very dear to us and we love them as if they are family. When we started making the guest list we had 3 families and that totaled to 13 not including my family. But as we got to thinking the people that we've invited are friends with people that we know and really like but they weren't on our original invite list. My dilema (sp) is I know that our guests will tell the others that they are coming to our house and I don't want the others to feel as if we don't like them. So I was thinking of inviting them as well because I don't want them to feel hurt If I invite the others our list will sky rocket up to 50 + people. What would you do?
