My parents named me my first name second. It is something I have disliked for many years. They didn't think Patricia Mary sounded right; they thought Mary Patricia sounded better. How many times have people called me Mary? Too many times to count. Half the time I didn't even know they were talking to me. I am the only one my parents named this way.
My mother was named the same way (as was her mother). Her first name second. When my dad passed away there were a lot of papers to be signed. My mother had to sign her legal name. She kept omitting her first name because she was not used to signing her name that way, so she would have to go back and put her first initial at the beginning.
My father came to me in a dream and showed me a winning story written by Mary Bird. Because of this I have chosen to use my given name as my pen name for any writings I publish - Mary Patricia Bird. This is how I have my stories, etc. published on Triond.

oh, that is so touching. i thought these things happen only in movies. i found this way of naming very interesting. you should look at the bright side because you have an interesting name and each time you tell people the full story of your name, they will be amazed of this story. And that whole Mary Patricia Bird thing was very meaningful to me!

You don't know the half of it! Before I was born, my parents were in the car with my older siblings talking about baby names. Mary Jane was one of them, I think. And can you believe it? They wanted to call me Robin? Robin Bird! My brother (4 at the time) piped in and asked, "If it's a cat can we call it Felix?"

I do happen to have a middle name and I infact do like it. I would rather go by my middle name instead of my first name.

Yeah I have a middle name and it is michael. No one has ever called me that name and I dont know why people will have a middle name if they never use it its kind of pointless if you think about it. But I guess people just like tradition and so they figure why not give our son or daughter a middle name.

No, I don't have one and it would be awkward if I did.
Marie Anne is two words, but it is my legal first name. I hate it when I am referred to as Marie, that is someone else, not me!
It is French and I was named for my paternal grandmother, so even though it is spelled the French way, I pronounce it like Mary Anne.

My middle name at birth was Mary, and I had my Dad's surname as a surname. In time I took my mother's maiden ame as my surname, and moved Dad's surame to a second middle name, so now I have two middle names. Mary is my paternal grandmother's first name. It's also my husband's ex-wife's name, but that's just a bizarre coinsedence.
