My kids are grown now but I have always taken pictures...just candid random ones. I am now putting together scrapbooks with little stories of them growing up. The posed pics ....school pics...are nothing compared to the candid ones. Just take pictures....lots of them. I have one chapter on my oldest daughter just being on the phone ....always. she is brushing her teeth with the phone cupped to her head....watching tv with the phone...cooking with the phone...on and on. She was and still is ...always on the phone.

I would suggest that you just take pictures of what ever he wants to do. Get him used to your taking pictures. Let him take pictures of you. My grand daughter loves to have her picture taken and she loves to have her picture taken. It is easy to get her to pose now and to have her look natural and not stiff and forced expression.

i love sceanery pictures. i have a great picture of my husband and i standing at the edge of this cliff and you can see a huge valley behind us. the leaves were changing too which made it even better. my friend had her senior pictures done by a stream. once shot he took she was standing in the stream on a rock. it was really pretty. maybe since your son is 8 and a boy, what about the playground? Or pick something he likes to do.

Take him to the park but take some pcitures of him while he is playing. I think the best pictures of kids is when they aren't paying attention. My mom loves taking pictures and the best one is when the kids are just playing around and not looking and the camera.

I like natual photos. I think the best way to get a nice photo of your son is not to make him pose. Take photos of him playing with a football or feeding the ducks etc :)

i think that the best pose would be if you took him to a nice river or lake. He could have a background with water, plants, grass and trees. I have a photo like that, but there is no person in there. it is so proffesional and there are times when i wish i was there...so take him to a lake and it will be such a great picture that we will never forget it!
