In my opinion, you can never prevent yourself from falling in love with somebody. It will just come and sometimes it will surprise you. We fall in love with a person even without ever knowing it and sometimes we can't get out of it anymore. To be more precise, there are times that you start to be a friend with someone (of opposite gender) you become very close friends, exchanging thoughts, being there as a friend to lean on and later on you fall in love. Never regret having been in love. As the saying goes, "it is better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all" :)
