For the people that believe in God: Why is He so good?

Adam and Eve sinned, and were cast out from the Garden of Eden. But we didn't sin, so why aren't we there? Isn't God a little cruel for that? Also, isn't God being a little needy by saying "Love me and you can go to heaven"? What do people do in heaven anyways? Eternity is a long time and a lot of fun things are sins.
