Depends on the situation.
Something bad happens during the day -- I'll want to vent to my partner.
An issue with my partner -- I may talk to my parents first.
Education-related or career-related -- parents.
Friend-related -- partner.
Something terrible happens in the family -- partner, for the comfort.
