It really is good for you, in a sense. It can help lower high blood pressure. That has to be good, right? But you still have to balance the calories that you intake. So you still have to eat it in moderations because it's well, chocolate. So having a little piece or two will keep the doctor away.

Thats true. I am not a fan of dark chocolate but once in awhile i get a craving for chocolate and am on a diet so was wondering which of the two would be a bit healthier.

It can be good for you, it does have less sugar than milk or white chocolate and I believe more of whatever goodies are in chocolate that are considered a health boost. However, this doesn't mean eat an entire bar, I think it's like 2 oz or something a day. I have been craving chocolate and I will admit I just ate several squares of toffee infused milk chocolate, but it has been a holiday weekend, I'm sick, and I'm glad I ate the chocolate lol.

Dark chocolate can help lower your blood pressure and it contains antioxidants, which help to fight disease. So, yes, it is good for you. The trick is to eat it in moderation. Eating tons of dark chocolate is not going to help your health, obviously, so eat it in moderation. White chocolate does not contain these beneficial ingredients and milk chocolate does not either. The reason is because of the high amount of pure cacao (what chocolate is made from) that is in dark chocolate. This is what makes dark chocolate taste slightly bitter. If you want to try some dark chocolate that is good for your health, buy a bar that contains at least 60% cacao. Just remember that the more cacao there is in the chocolate, the more bitter the chocolate will taste. You can treat yourself to two squares of cacao a day to reap the benefits.

It is better for you than other chocolates, but not necessarily totally healthy. And only a little bit; you are not meant to eat much.

Let's put it this way: dark chocolate is LESS HARMFUL to you than milk chocolate will be. And in fact, in tiny doses, it can be good for you.
That does not, however, mean that you can chow down on bar after bar of dark chocolate. It means you can have one small piece a day, perhaps, and not feel too guilty because it's good for you.
