20 posts earned me nothing

no money for me - I made about 20 posts yesterday but earned nothing.

I have earn nothing from my yesterdays activity. I made some 20 posts and I thought I could earn $0.20 at least from it, but none were added to my earnings. I first looked at my earnings page when it was update 10 minutes ago. I thought maybe it is not updated yet. But when I looked at it again when it was updated 10 hours, still nothing. Do you also experience this? Have you had a day when you made a lot of posts but earned nothing from it?

yes, sometimes i experienced it, but i always get paid for that the next day. there is also some days which i think i do nothing but my earning increased significantly. so i think, commonly we never lost anything. i guess the system is like this: mylot count our post from 00.00 to 00.00 (it means 24 hours), and they update our earning around 09.00 - 10.00. so, i guess you post your 20 posts at 01.00 or sometime after that, so you will get your earning in the next day. good luck!

This seems to be a good explanation on what happened. So you are saying maybe my earnings for those 20 posts would be added to my earnings today and will be showed up for tomorrow. I don't know the timing really well because I know we have different timelines. But I think I have finished posting those responses when the timestamp says "earnings updated 22 hours ago" so I thought those responses is included for than day.

The earnings are updated every 24 hours, but the time that it is cut off is before that. For the sake of example, lets say that you are in the eastern U.S. The cutoff time for posting may be midnight but the earnings show up several hours later, after they do the calculations. So if you posted these discussions after the cutoff but before the actual update, you won't see anything yet, they will show up the next day.

So you are saying that maybe while they say for example "earnings updated 22 hours ago" they don't really mean that if you post in this hours, your posts will be included in the earnings. I now wonder what are the cut-off times so I can have a clearer view on which days I really earn big and which days I don't. So maybe if you earn so much for you Tuesday activity, it doesn't really mean you earn it from Tuesday alone, it can be from other days also.

aishaladon, I don't really know how they compute our earnings here. And it is very hard to tell how much I earn on a regular basis. But here's what I have: I make 20+ a day and have been earning $0.30 a day on the average. There's really no limit on the number of posts and therefore no limit on our ability to earn. The more you post, the more you write, the more you earn.

Sorry Im new around here. I think its fun to just talk to people about interesting things. I do it anyways, but for free. If anything it gives me an opportunity to tell about myself and my blog. http://aishaladon.com But the payment makes it better than any other DB. So far Im liking it. Only me second day. No pay, no new clout rank :( How much do you get paid on a regular basis?

This has happened to me check it tomorrow am sure you will see it there. For some reason the weekend is updated as good or well as during the week. I know I have done some on the weekend and they didn't show up until Monday and even into Tuesday. If they weren't deleted am sure they will show up.

Mine too. And it has been like that for two days now, I think. Isn't it a day late? It is July 1 here in the Philippines and we are advance by one day, so maybe its June 30 there. And the update should show your activities for yesterday which is June 29. It's late right? It's only showing a June 28 update when it should have June 29 already. (Or am I missing something?)

I hope the earnings would turn up soon. I haven't figured out what could be wrong. The discussions I have responded to are still there and none were deleted. All the 20 posts I made were response. I started no discussion yesterday. When your earnings shows up on the Tuesday, does it show that you have earned it on the weekend? What is the last date on your earnings page?

That's abit weird, to have earned nothing after 20 posts?? MAYbe mylot is slow in the update of earnings i think.. Because the similiar thing happened to me before, and i din get my updated earnings.. BUt when i checked again 2 days later, mylot has combined my 2 days earnings into 1 day and updated everything on one day.. So maybe the same thing is happening to u too??

Maybe that was what happened. The next days earning update showed I have earned $0.58, maybe that is a combined amount for two days of earnings. I hope so, as I don't want to lose my earnings here. Now, I think I don't want to participate in the hours before the update because I think in that time mylot is making its computation and activities made in those times are to be included yet on the next update.

Hey, richiem try not to worry! I just recently joined mylot and i remembered reading in the earnings tab that it takes them 24 hours to process your earnings. So that means your days earnings will be credited to your account tomorrow. so, no worries!!! keep on posting...

I am not that worried. But I do worry because I am talking about my earnings for yesterday. I have always thought that my yesterday's earnings will be reflected in my earnings page today. But it isn't. But as I have said, I am not worried because I have already reached the minimum payout and am sure to receive payment.

That's odd.. do you suppose something is going on with the payment system? Maybe the threads you posted in weren't very popular or something. If you find out why, please let us know what's up.

All the posts I made are responses to my friends' discussions. So I don't think the popularity of the thread has something to do with my yesterday's earnings. Do you think when you post in a popular discussion you will earn more?

I don't know. I'm very new to this whole website, so I'm only throwing out ideas that I've been hearing around the forums today, and one of them seems to be that the more popular the thread you're in, the more you may make.

I haven't heard of it that until now. Maybe I should experiment on that also. I have always thought that popularity of a thread has nothing to with the earnings per post. This means we should always have to keep an eye on hot topics or top discussions for us to earn more.

Really? you only got 40 cents for 509 posts? that would be a cent per 13 posts you make. I think it would have something to do with your responses. Glancing from your activities, you're responses are mostly one-liners. They say one-liners don't earn you anything. Also, the discussions you have started are not under any interests. I think you should start your discussions under interests so it will gain more publicity and more responses.

Hi Richiem, for us its delay delayed by a day, today Tuesday noon what we see is Sunday earning and tonight after the cutoff time, the Monday earning will appear. It's confusing most of the time but you'll get use to it. So if you are on a target you have to reach it a day before that day.

I didn't see any earning update on June 29, Sunday for me. That means I for them, I don't have any earnings on that date. It is in that date that I made those 20 responses. I am hoping they had added that to my June 30 earnings update. I can really not be sure if they had.

That is odd! We are in much different time zones so I could not advise on when they will update for you. They update here around ten AM, EST, US time. And they did that about 13 hours ago. I do not know why you would not have gotten any earnings. One thought does occur to me. Today is MyLot housecleaning day--the last day of the month, June 30. In our time zone, it's not July 1, yet. Perhaps they are going through discussions from the past month and deleting ones that violate TOS. These could be discussions that you responded to. Not necessarily discussions that you started. Let's say that it's a discussion from 15 days ago. Then the loss in earnings would have been taken out of today or yesterday's earnings. Many people don't know this. They figure since the money is in their account it's as good as paid. When in reality, many people lose some money on Mylot housecleaning day! I am sure everyone has suffered a tiny bit. I'm sure you'll recoup next month. Just keep going. You'll do fine. All my best! BeautyQueen

I'm going to have to give that one some thought. I thought you meant that you did not get earnings from that day. I did not realize that the points were gone. I guess they would both be gone if you had gotten any deleted.

I hope none of my posts have been deleted. That is a lot of posts, some 20 posts, to be deleted in one day. But if that really happened, I guess your tip on having 20% above of the normal activity would be the best to employ. In that way we will always be sure to have our earnings. However, my earnings today is exactly the same as my earnings tomorrow. It is so much of a coincident if the number of my posts and the number of posts deleted have been very similar.

I only posted responses yesterday and I started no discussions. I always thought that responding is the surest way of making money here but now, I am thinking twice about it. I have responded like this on other days and I earned from them so I am really perplexed why I don't earn this time.

You should try responding with more and longer sentences. They say you earn nothing from responding with one-liners. I also think you need have good friends here. They help to give you more responses in your discussions.

I have notified mylot admin about it and they haven't reply. But I guess the best explanation in my situation would be: my earnings are not updated for the day but will be included in the next day. I hope that did happen. Have a nice day!

I had the same problem. I joined June 30 and made 20 posts that day myself. When I got back on, on July 1 it stated that earninges was updated 23 hours ago. So I was like ok well maybe it will be updated in a hour because that would be a whold day then I could see my earnings. Well, when I checked a hour later which was at like 10:30 am it said my earnings was 0 even though it has been a day and I posted 20 posts. Well, I didn't get my earnings updated until 10:45 and ended up with 0.20 for the previous day. So maybe it just depends on when you joined on when you will get your earnings cause it took them a while to give me mine.

I think I remember I experience that also when I am new here. I think there is really something to the updating and the computation process here. But I think we are not losing our earnings here, they are just not included in the day we have expected. I guess we have to get used to that.

Welcome to mylot. You earn here by responding and starting your own discussion. I say you should have a lot of friends. You can gain friends by responding to other mylotters or sending friend requests to the ones who respond to your discussions. Having a lot of friends doesn't pay directly but if you have a lot of friends, you get more responses to your discussions, that way, you earn more!

That's weird. I used to do less than 20 posts before and somehow, I still earn a few centavos. I also don't understand how the earnings are calculated. I suggest you do more posts, start discussions and put comments. this might help increase your earnings.

richem if you did not write but a few words you will not get p;aid one cent you have to write quality discussions'of at least five or six intelligent sentences, one word answers willnot be paid. they want quality responses of full sentences not just a word or two. I have never posted twenty and not made at least seventyfive or eight cents, I usually make more likeone dollar and seventy cents as I post at least fifty or so p;osts and they arenever real short ones as short does not cut it.

I always see to it to write 4-5 lines when posting. Maybe your idea of at least 5-6 sentences is a better one. But sometimes it is easier to measure the lines that measure sentences because some sentences may contain only five words. So making 6 sentences with five words each would only make 2-3 lines. Your earnings are remarkable I think. I think I can't make 50 posts a day. I can make 10 posts an hour and making 50 posts would mean 5 hours. I don't that much time. But there are times when I also reach the dollar mark.

Hello Richiem, how are you doing. I am back. Was out for seven days computer problem. So you are saying that you post 20 responses no money. How short was those responses and do you check and see if those are still there. I wrote a discussions today informing why I was not here and thanking those who gave me the BR's but it was deleted. So if you can remember those you have response to just check and see if there are still there. If so then write a note to MYLOT accounts and they will be able to answer your questions or correct the mistakes. I remember not receiving an earning update and after writing to them within minutes it was corrected. All the best. KERRY

Welcome back kerriannc! I don't see why they have to delete you discussion. I don't see anything wrong with it. I make it a point that my responses are not one-liners. In the least, they have 3 sentences each. And I don't think the discussions have been deleted. I still see them in my "discussions I have responded to" page. I guess I have to contact mylot and see what happens. thanks

Oh it happened to me some time ago, about 15 posts and nothing... That made me wonder about how the earnings computation is. So I'm more of a discussion maker nowadays, although I still respond. I know how it feels... Sad...

One line responses doesn't give you money. You should response with more than four lines. Every posting a one line discussion does not help you. So remember it is the quality and the length that put money in your pocket.

There are days when we really did a lot of things but our earnings doesn't show that much. I have already reached payout for the month because I have not reached it last May. It will be easier for you to reach payout next month. But maybe only a part of your activities have been included in the update and the other part would be included in tomorrows update. That way you will earn more tomorrow.

I am new in mylot, I have been posting from yesterday, and since then (more than 24 hrs I believe) no earnings came. I don't know why is that, I will wait tomorrow to see what happens, but I have one question: Do they pay each post one specific amount of money? Like you said you made 20 posts and you expected $0.20. Did you mean that 20 posts alltogether earn you $0.20?????
@richiem (3644)

If you have read the mylot guidelines, they would tell you that mylot prohibit speculation about how they compute earnings. So it is not really good to say that a post is worth $0.01 each. No one really knows how much. But for your posts to count, they should not be one liners because some say one liners doesn't earn you money. So keep your post to 3 sentences and up.
