there i was, happily announcing that i'm reaching my first payout. when i saw that my earnings had hit $10, i was over the clouds. then i clicked on the earnings and was shocked to discover that i need $50 before i can cash out.
i was pretty upset and started asking if the minimum payout sum has been changed. thanks to a fellow mylotter, i went to check my payment preference. turn out it's my own Big mistake! i had set the amount to $50 instead of $10.
so i've got no one to blame but myself for this stupid mistake. i've changed it back to $10. now i am really looking forward to getting an email from paypal. cheers :p

ha ha ha ha ha... common mistake to make. I had that same problem as well when I got my first payout. End up gotta wait another month before I "Qualify" for the payout. Then another 2 weeks for the payout itself!
Work harder girl. You may be looking at a $20 pay out then.

hmm it took me a year to reach $10. maybe it'll take me another year to reach $20? lol
guess i'll not be greedy and just work towards my 500th post first. at least that way i can share some of the jokes i receive through email here. some of them are really hilarious but too long to type out.

Wow applefreak it took you a year to make it to your first payout? I try to make payout each month since I usually use it to pay for my internet. I usually make it when I try hard enough. I can make over a dollar a day when I try and have the time. You ust not had alot of time to spend on mylot but we are still glad you do what you can.

She wasn't active here. Only in the recent month was she a little more active.
Aiyah, reaching another $10 is not difficult. Just post in as many topics as ahgong is able to post, and you will be reaching there pretty quick.
Also, think of things to write. Anything. I am constantly thinking of stuff. And sometimes, when I feel that those thoughts can be translated into topics for general discussion, I note it down and post it here when I can.
Otherwise, if you are more hard working, turn on the notification for every one of your friends in the list. When you are really bored and got nothing better to do, go thru each email alert you have and start responding to them!
In no time, reaching the next $10 is easy!

As long as it is changed before the first of the month it shouldn't hurt anything. I have done this also. I a thinking of doing it again to save up more money that way. I know it will be safe in the Mylot till until I decide I am ready to cash out.

well i only discovered the boo boo today. so i'm not in time to get my payout on 15 Jul. then again, i guess it's a good thing also. at least i'll have a little more time to think about how i want to spend the money. it also helps that my birthday is in august. so it's like a early birthday present from mylot. yippee :p

I figured if you changed it today that it should take effect today and you would get your payout on or before the 15th of July. But I could be mistaken.

YAY! That's awesome! I have only made payout once, and I thought for sure that after you made it again and the month changed that they changed your balance to zero, but mine still shows 11.57. I guess they don't change it until the payments are sent?

yes it was kinda stupid of me. well it took me a whole long year. but that's not because of anything else but my own laziness. i only managed 400+ posts in a year. that's an average of slightly more than one post a day. i'm sure you can do much better than that. in fact, i think i'm the only one with such low post count. ;]

400 posts per year, it's not a good result. Maybe you are busy then, so it has nothing to do with laziness.
but as for me, my poor english prevents me from posting more, and I have to work during the day. 400 posts is not a easy job for me.
thanks, have a good day.

Since $10 gives you such a thrill... Care to share how long you were pounding the keys and suchlike to get there? Just curious, I am well aware I shall likely not make many cents here and when I do I shall certainly not be so thrilled as all that. Oh and since it gives you that thrill tell me the most lucrative things I can do for you - like can I "rate" you or somesuch crap to give you anoher cent.

hi applefreak that could happen to anyone, glad you found
your error and now you can get payoff. I find that I can
easily make ten so should really up mine to thirty as I alwasys make at least that much. I am on here a lot, and I do
mean a lot so have more chances that way.

yes i'm so happy that i managed to resolve this. i guess i should just stick to $10. it took me one whole year to get my first payout. i can't imagine how long it'll take me to get $30. ;p

Haha! Yeah, back when I first started here on myLot I assumed (rather silly of me) that I would reach payout rather quickly...and set mine to $50 as well.

hi applefreak how can one be so unconscious of this fact?
well i am really sorry for you since making 10 dollars and making 50 there is a five times effort and requires lot of time.
yo may have to wait for more months to get it . cant you change your preference now ?
if possible go to that particular column and change the preference to 10 or say 25 so that you get the payout faster.

well i guess firstly i was way too optimistic. secondly i did the setting a year ago. i totally forgot about that until i realised i couldn't get my payout. thankfully a fellow mylotter reminded me. thankfully i made the change before the cut off date. so now i'm waiting for my first payout. yippee :p

I don't want to burst your bubble but I think you need to change it before the cutoff date for it to take effect. So if you've done that you should receive the payment this month, otherwise it'll be in the next month. Hope you're not too disappointed if you don't get it this month, it'll just mean all the more in next month's payout as you'll have obviously earnt more by then :)

That's a mistake anyone could have made so don't be too hard on yourself. You changed it back by doing a little investigating so good for your and congratulations on reaching payout. I remember the first time I reached payout with Mylot. I made over thirty dollars the first time. I was amazed at how easy and fun it was. I just wish I had more time to do this during the school year when I'm working, but not it's summer and I'm back!

wow over thirty dollars the first time. that's an amazing feat which i think i will never be able to accomplish. it took me a whole year just to reach minimum payout. so that would mean another two more years before i'd hit $30. lol

congrats on getting your first paycheck.

yes i am so happy now. it's really demoralising when i first thought i couldn't get my payout. thank goodness for all the kind souls who pointed me in the right direction. i'm assuming that you've gotten your first payout eons ago. guess i should start working towards getting 500 posts now. adios ;)

You must have been really optimistic when you set your payout to $50! I've learned to stick to the minimum payouts for the part, even on sites where I have referrals, but there is one site where I also raised the payout (I raised it from $10 to $30 in my case). I cursed myself for doing this many times as I earned the money, but I forced myself to reach that $30 point. To tell you the truth, I'm glad I did it because otherwise I think I might never used that site enough to make that much money. On MyLot, though, I'm definitely sticking to $10 payouts. I'm glad you "fixed" your problem and I'm also glad that MyLot makes it so easy to change the payout amount you want.

yes i realised my 'folly' now. maybe i was thinking that i should keep the earnings till a decent amount. if not i'd just keep cashing out at $10 and spend it on something i can't see. maybe i really should become more active. so instead of hitting $10 in a year, i can hit $50 in a year. lol :p

how long have u been a mylot member? how long does it take you to earn the first payout, i've here for more than two weeks, and my earnings is far lower than the minimum payout, say $10, i'm expecting for that day to come early. lol

i've been a member for one whole year! yes that sounds scary but don't worry. i only earn my first payout now because i was really inactive. i can post like five posts in one whole month! that's very little for someone who spends hours surfing the internet. i'm sure you can hit minimum payout in no time. judging from the number of posts you already have under your belt in two short weeks. way to go! ;)
