What tarot deck do you work with and why? How did you acquire them?

I have been reading tarot cards pretty much ever since I can remember! When I was a young girl my gift became apparent when I started using 'normal playing cards' to tell stories for people - to start with family and friends. When I was 12 years old I was given my tarot deck from a fantastic reader (I was 'bought' a reading for my birthday from my grandmother who was the first person I read for). She told me that I would use it to read in the back of a shop with. Two and a half years later after getting on with my school work and putting them to the side for a while, I out of the blue walked into a shop and asked if I could read there on a sunday. She said she had been waiting for me and I should come in the next sunday and start. I have worked there on and off (and a few other places and from home) for the last 15 years. I still use the same deck of cards - a Rider Waite set that was over 30 years old when it was given to me. They smell delicious and old-worldy, I often wonder how many 'stories' they have told. For those who read tarot, which deck do you use and why? How old are your cards now? How do you keep them? How did they come into your belonging? Do you read with the traditional meanings from textbooks or do you read intuitively? Thanks for letting me share my tarot journey with you - what is yours?
