If only you knew then what you know now.

I reckon most would change certain aspects of thier life and make some changes for the better. When we look back we try to remember the good times and shut away the bad experiences that has happened on lifes path. How do you feel about certain periods of your life? Would you change anything?

Oh god yes, let me go back and start all over again, when I was growing up it was just nature that you would grow up get married and have kids. You was a woman and you didn't have to worry about a job you had a hubby to support you, what we did not know then was that at some point in our lives things can change the hubby is not there any more and what do we do to support our selves, we have always been a mother and a stay at home. I would stay in school and get all the education that I could get so that i did not need anyone to support me but me. Also some relationships, I would stay out of, and I WOUld do the things that I wanted to do instead of putting them off till it now becomes too late. i am constantly pushing my grand daughter to try and do better in school, she is one who don't need school, and will not understand how luck she is to have the opportunity to go to school and get an education. So she does not have to struggle like her mother has all these years.

Education is also in the front of my mind too and I would certainly cram as much as I could in this tiny brain of mine. As they say knowledge is power to the mind which hopefully increases the wisdom needed to use it. A great response and thanks for your thoughts.

Why would you want to turn back time and go back to a dated schooling system, when you're never too old to learn, and have better learning facilities now? I've embarked on yet another online course, to increase my knowledge but I'm increasing my knowledge about life rather than the academic things. If you want to learn something, there is always a way. You can't turn back time, so you have to move forward with that in mind, and strive to learn what you didn't previously.

Yes I agree to agree with you and on that same principle if we had learnt more in the past and kept on learning up to the present day then hopefuly our knowledge base with be a lot wider in scope.

I have lots of things I regret doing. I tend to hang on the bad and forget the good. I tend to worry about things I have done that I should not have and wake up in the middle of the night ashamed for doing them. I am not a bad person and the things I have done are petty. I have never been arrested nor the stuff that I have done has broken the law. It is mostly acting a certain way or saying things I should not have. I know I need to learn to let them go, I know I cannot change the past. but sometimes the past just crepes up into my dreams and haunts me.

Some of the past has to be forgetten but there are good times to keep for remembering.

I wouldn't change a thing, and I'll tell you why, my friend. When you make mistakes through life, you gain wisdom... learn the lessons you're meant to about your path. As long as you're able to recognise the negatives and let them go, gathering only the positive gems of knowledge, which you can convert into pearls of wisdom, then what more could you ask? Nope... I wouldn't change one single thing, for I wouldn't be the same person I am now! Brightest Blessings, my dear friend. x

No... my friend... the past is past, and you obtained your wisdom now, from what happened then. It would be non-beneficial to turn the clock back, even if you could. Life is about learning lessons and gaining knowledge and wisdom. If you went back in time, you'd do the same thing over because you wouldn't yet have learned. What you're asking is an impossibility. x

But sure with the increased knowledge of the now being appled to the past has to be a good thing as your wisdom would be much increased.

I sure would. I'm sorry not getting more education, not getting involoved with some people in the past and not wiseing up sooner. It would have not wasted alot of energy and tears.

We have to go through the learning process as regards people as we know what they are like until we converse with them for a while.

I feel terrible about certain aspects of my life, but I have learned from my mistakes. Those mistakes have help me become a better person, the person I am now. Although I would love to have the opportunity to change some things that I have done in my past, at the same time I fear I would not be who I am today if I had not made those mistakes and learned from them. The typical catch 22!:)

So long as we have learnt from our mistakes can only be a good thing but learning from other peoples mistakes has to be even better.

I have often wished i could catch hold of the TIMETURNER which belonged to Hermione Granger, and go back into time, altering some actions that could have made life's bitter experiences sweet. there are certain experiences i have had as a child and a teen..which i do not like recollecting. At nineteen now,i have analysed myself completely and absolutely know where i used to lack in my formative years. I did not have the habit of answering or arguing back, and actually did not expect people to be any different from me when i was small!1as a result,i have often been left dumbstruck in certain situations and have allowed people to walk over m.the key point that held me back was..INHIBition!!!even till recently,i would not feel okay to frankly snap at people or question them too much.i had quite a few experiences when i first came to hostel a year back.i had a friend who would so easily snap back at people and seem rude and arrogant, while she is actually kind at heart.i felt odd in being rude to people.but, she made me realize i wasn't doing any big deal!!i was allowing people to actually walk over me and take advantage of my innocence!!i really wish i could overcome those embarassing moments and if i had the courage to speak up loud and clear at those times..i wouldn't have been repenting now.

When we are young we lack that knowledge needed to be able to stand up and be counted so we are wise to keep quiet until we know what to reply with. Knowing when speak and when to hold back is a wisdom that grows with time.

Well I prefer to look forward in life what has gone is gone, the only thing that from bad experience I have learnt a lot and regarding good experiences I have enjoyed a lot. So the only thing which I have changed from bad experiences is that I have made my attitude a positive one so that history does not repeat anytime.

A positive mental attitude comes from experience as you learned yourself and applied to the present. We learn something new everyday an we are wiser as time goes on. If we do not make the same mistakes from past experiences then we are certainly wiser.
