How Many Miles Per Gallon Does Hope Get?

Obama can talk all day about hope, but hope does not get me from point a to point b. Hope does not lower the price of gas by one cent. We can hope all day but it does not get us off the Middle East gas hook. Actions are more important than hope, and when it comes to action Obama is just a little impotent.

I disagree. Obama is not 'just a little impotent'. He is largely impotent.

I think that the Democrats who run Congress better sign that bill for get the oil from Alaska and the coastal areas, and for them to start drilling. Unless their intention is to reduce the States to a third rate country because they blame it from being so successful. His idea of using ethanol instead of oil for gas, is taking food out of the mouths of the Americans. Oh and if Americans cannot afford to buy gasoline or feed themselves, they cannot help the rest of the world that is worse off. Maybe he should think about that.

When gas becomes 10 dollars a gallon I can always drive on hope.

Thanks for the best response. I saw on the net that they are already started getting ready to drill on the coast. Now if they can only get those environmentalists to let them drill in those parks and they can do it deep enough as as not to disturb the animals.

That would be funny if our situation wasn't so terrible. I did sneak in a little smile.

I agree. Obama is long on political spin and short on real, concrete plans. I am the kind of person who does a lot of listening, reading, researching, etc. before I choose a candidate to vote for. While I am a republican, I believe in researching all the candidates before making a choice. After much listening, reading and researching all I have heard from Obama is a lot of talk, some great ideas, but very little in the way of plans that could become a viable reality that we can all live with and gain from. Perhaps in another 4 or 8 years he may be ready to become the president, but for now I think he lacks experience.

Specifics are a little hard to come by in the Obama camp. Hope is great until after the election when you want to cash it in for something real. Gee, I HOPE he doesn't get elected.

I geuss you saw something I did not because I did not read anything that will lower gas prices, or create one more gallon of gas. All I saw was a bunch of BS.

I guess it's a matter of opinion. Although I don't think creating more gas is the goal, as much as using energy more efficiently, finding alternative sources, and at the same time protecting the environment.

Perhaps he means hope for the change he is promising. But, I have yet to figure out the change that we will get from him that will help us. He says he's going to up our taxes, make sure more babies are murdered through abortion, estates taxed more, to name a few of his 'changes'. I don't like the thought of CHANGE in the name of Obama. He scares me!

Sounds as if you've got at least two big problems, so let's hope we can help you to get over them, if that is possible. Firstly, your problem with HOPE, which is the very basis of most political activity. The politician, whether in office or running for office, has to depend on his or her ability to infuse you and I with HOPE......hope for a better future, hope that their policies will work to make our lives better, hope that their words are more meaningful, that their policies will make better sense for the economy......etc. etc.....get the picture? Your second problem is obviously Obama, for any of the myriad reasons that make a candidate unwelcome in our eyes, but he is simply a candidate running for office, so to describe him as impotent is a nonsense, as he is certainly not in any position to make a real difference to our lives. If you think his policies or his probable policies will not work, then say that, and just as obviously, tell us why you think there are better ways to 'skin a cat'. Best thing....tell us what policies you would like to see being expressed by the two main people running for the White House!
