Hello,my friends, have you once experienced thinking while you want to fall asleep, you try to stop what you are thinking about, but in vain,it seems you will think even seriously, then, what will you do?
Get up or still on bed?or listen to music, read books?
Looking forward to your way:)

Listen to music or read books, both are effective. On the other hand, if I still can't sleep, I make my time productive by studying or writing a poem or song. Or maybe if we can't sleep, we'll post like there's no tomorrow in myLot until we're all burned up and tired. So tired that we'll fall asleep in no time. Hehe.

hi ifglan. I sometimes have little troubles to fall asleep when I am all day at home and I am not tired at all. If I spend my day active, what happens most frequently, I fall asleep quite quick. But when I have really lazy day, it is hard to fall asleep because I have still some energy even at night:).
I usually surf internet or read books when I feel I am not ready to fall asleep. If I really have to go to bed, because I have to get up early, I try to solve some crosswords or sudoku - the more difficult they are, the faster I feel sleepy:). A glass of warm milk and/or a glass of melissa also helps a little.
Have a nice day, and good sleep too, jazgottt.

I have that problem, but calcium enduces sleep = makes you drozzey - so I take my calcuim supplement about 1/2 before I know I want to be asleep. WOrks like a charm. The old thing about a warm cup of milk to help you fall asleep - the only reason that works is cause of the calcuim in the milk - - ice cream is made from milk and it has the same calcium in it so eat some ice cream instead of a cup of milk at bedtime! I learned this from Food Network: Unwrapped...where they tell the history of practialy every food made! Just make sure you are ready to sleep cause if you get up or keep watching tv - it will ware off rather quickly.

Things I do to sleep:
(1) surf the internet, or play games in the computer -- the light from the monitor will soon make my eyes tired
(2) read books, or listen to music
(3) count sheep
(4) recall what happened to day and imagine what could have been done to make it more desirable... until you lull yourself to sleep.
(5) close your eyes and just hug the pillow

When I try to get to sleep .. I have to visualize a long corridor with light swithes on the wall, and as I walk down the corridor I'm turning off the lights as I go. While I'm doing this I'm breathing slowly in through my nose and out through my mouth. when thoughts like 'I've got to do X,Y and Z tommorow' let them pass, dont entertain them, keep your mindseye on the corridor. As you continue down the corridor you have to say to yourself' as more lights go out the more tired I feel'. Doing this usuallly works for me although I use other techniques.

Hi my friend,
If I having trouble falling asleep after like 20 minutes, I'll get out of bed and get back on the computer. I'll play a stupid game so it will make me sleepy. I've also been known to get out of bed, get a drink, sit down with a smoke and then go back to bed. Sometimes that is all that is needed for me to fall asleep.
Have a good evening,
Char
