On a phone and a calculater the number five has a little dot on it

Why is it that on a phone and on a calculater the number 5 key always has a little dot on it?

So that you can tell that is the middle key. Its like on all keyboards, the letters F and J have little bump lines on them as when you type professionally, this is where your forefingers are meant to start here.
