Smoker and Non-Smoker!!! Give Your opinion here!

Starting today in Netherland July 1 2008,people cannot smoke inside the premises of any restaurant facilities,cafeteria,disco bar,even the small snack bar.This rule find most of The Netherlander not neutral rules to everybody.And most of the caffe bar or the disco bar owner afraid that because of this rules it might give bad effect to thiers companies and business.I have to agree w/ that becouse most of the people who go in the caffe,and disco bar smoke cigarette.Althouh this rule somehow good new from other people.for me is no problem as long as your not going to blow the smoke into my face then i dont get problem w/ it,or give some place for the smoker so in that case other people cant get problem w/ it. I am not agree either that all of the restaurant,caffe and disco bar is not allowed to smoke anymore.They should think all the people either not only on one side.In the airport of Netherland there is no place where you can smoke cigarettes.What is your opinion about it?Do you agree w/ this rules that all smoker cannot smoke anymore into restaurant,caffe,disco bar etc?Share what you think about it..Thank you very much..

It has been that way here in the US for a while now. *I am a smoker and I think it is not fair. Basically they are saying that it is ok to go out and drink and drive,but just do not blow smoke on anyone else. It is an invasion of privacy,rights and law.There are companies here that will either fire you or make you pay for your own insurance.But!!! If you drink and it affect your liver. that's ok we will pay for that.To me this is not right.

I undesratnd what you feel about this law.For me i think its a good law a lot of people can benefits smoker and non-smoker.But in the other hand i hope that they give any exception to some other places.I am agree 100% that people cannot smoke in restaurant..Some other people just dont know how to watch out when and where they can smoke.Its too bad that government need to make rule,law for this to implement this thing...Take care my friend we are all going to see what is going to happen...Enjoy posting..TC

Dear friend,
I am a non-smoker and the smoke from ciggarettes also irritates me a lot. Even though I had inhaled it in certain unavoidable situations. I do know it is too harmfull for those who inhale it than those who smoke it, especially those women who are pregnent could effect their baby too. Hence I feel banning smokeing might had make better and those who need to smoke may give a sperate place or room were others non-smokers could avoid. May be not to smoke in public were non-smokers are also present. May be the addiction might be best execuse of smokers. On the other side the business earnings of the multi companies too has their profits running high. May the human health is most valued and effected. Statoury warning SMOKING IS INJURIOUS FOR OUR HEALTH AND OTHERS HEALTH TOO. May be this could be given more information than the previous which is already on the packets.

This has pretty much been going over here in the United States for some time now. It is going from one state to another. it is now against the law to smoke in your car if you have children with you. There are even places that you can't smoke outside in the open air.

I guess a lot of people in thier is not agree about it.But i find it rediculous not to smoke in the car..ahahahaha thats really insane..Its thier own property i am agree if you cannot smoke in the restaurant where too much kid and non-smoker but in the car..I am speechless about it..I understand if there is a kid or non smoker in the car i have to agree that you cannot do that to other people and dont smoke.But i guess people who smoke knows that.Thier becoming more strict w/ the smoking thing law.But i would said success w/ that becouse they cannot control everybody on doing it.They have to bring up more new policeman to do that kind of law if they really want to resolve this problem.I am not really againts it but then if they said things like that its not allowed even in open air i think they becoming over reacting about it.Have a nice day and take care my friend..Enjoy posting..

It's already been done here in Md. I'm a smoker and a lot of the places that I use to patronize I don't go to anymore. The businesses were at first concerned with the loss of the profit, but what the local government has done is given them a tax break to compensate. For those that didn't go for the tax break can build an outdoor eating area for those that do smoke, but to do that the fee for the license is hefty.
In about 3-5 years, after the ban has really had a chance to set in, I think then the loss of profits will out way the tax break.

Thats right the owner of bars,disco bars,and some restaurant are worried that this law will cut thier profit.I am not againts w/ this law i think its a good law that they implement but i just hope that they make some exception to some places.I hope that they can think also something to help people who affected w/ this law like some business who rely w/ this.I agree that this law can benefits both ways,specially health problem.But give effect in our economy all over the world.They should do something about that too.Have a nice day DCMerkle..Enjoy posting...TC

No, I don't agree with the smoking bans, some of which are already in place in the U.S. and is just another indication of how the Secular Progressives on the far left in this country want to control every aspect of your life. I don't buy the second hand smoke is harmful theory for one big reason...the Baby Boomer generation. The Baby Boomers are the largest age group in this country and we grew up in the 50's and 60's with parents who smoked...at home and in cars with us in them. We're not so young anymore and I do not see reports...and never have seen reports...of large numbers of people in this age group suffering from exposure to second hand smoke so why is that? Because the entire theory is bull, that's why. I do not spend my money in establishments that do not permit smoking and, as others like me have let our wallets do the talking, some restaurants and bars have lost so many customers that they were forced to close their doors. People who don't smoke might not care right now but just wait until these same folks start trying to dictate what you eat, how often and how much. The food war in the U.S. has already started.

i don't smoke, and i don't want others to smoke around me. it makes me feel bad if anyone smokes beside me.
but there are so many people smoking everyday. and i know it is so difficult for them to get rid of it. so, i think a smoking room is needed in each restaurant or cafe or any other public places. the smoker can enjoy their smoking in the special room, meanwhile, it will not hurt our non-smokers.
anyway, i think we'd better educate our next generation to live far away from smoke, whether for their health or others or the world.

I think that its obsurb to tell someone that they cant smoke in a resturant when there is usally a smoking section for smokers. Im a non smoker, and NEVER once have i had the smell or anything of smoke in a non smoking section. Even when i sit in the smoking section do i hardley get bothered by the smoke unless the person next ot me is smoking. its not that big of a problem, i believe that car and building exhaust gives us more of a problem then ciggerates but you dont see any one making a big deal about that one do you

They make it very strict this law.That even in bar, and disco bar who usually people can smoke also inside the premises is not allowed anymore.I got some problem w/ smoking in some cases.But as long as they watching out people around them and they know where and when they can smoke that is no problem w/ me.Too bad that some of the smokers dont watching out.They just smoke when ever and what ever they want too..Have a nice day my friend..Take care your self..

That will be starting here in June of 2009 there will be a smoking ban in any public place as it has been proven that second hand smoke is really bad for you. I don't smoke but lived with my dad till I was 18 who did smoke so I was used to the smoke so it does not bother me one way or anohter.

I think it;'s a good way to limit smokers..because nowadays it's becomign an abuse..people smoke everywhere even in public places..and there are no forces to control them..if government impose little by little on them , a great step will be made towards a new world :)

I think its also good but i feel bad about the business who rely on it.They need to think other think to change it.But this law can benifits all people in the work both smokers and non-smokers.But our economy will get effect becouse of this law but what they said is they have to choose what is the best for thier people and not only for the economy.Which is very good decissions of every people in the government who make this happened.I am glad that they can do things like this.I am agree that you cannot smoke in the restaurant.But i just hope that they make also some exception to other places.In this case thier decissions can be equal for every body..Have a nice day and take care my friend!!!Enjoy posting..

I smoke, and I think it is a fair law. I never smoke anywhere where I think I will offend someone.
Here in New Jersey USA, smoking has been banned from restaurants, and public places for some time. The casinos, were the only places smoking was allowed, but a new law has been passed, and smoking will no longer be allowed in them as well.
There is a law also, that smoking is banned in your car, if there are children in there younger than 18.
Even, at home, if I have company and they do not smoke, I will not smoke, even though it is my house, totally out of respect for the non smoker.
I have no problem with the law, because it is only fair.

Hi Sudalunts,Thats what i mean most of the smoker have respect to other people who doesnt smoke.They know where and when they can do smoke.Ok this will give a good result to all people.And people not smoking in the restaurant and if the children is around i can understand that they can do for the sake of the children and people who doesnt smoke.But like for example here some coffe shop, and bar, caffe.Specially Amsterdam, tourist come here to smoke w**d,or people sit in the caffe to drink and smoke.So in that case they should have rule about w**d too.But in the other side i understand the law.They just want people have a good health..That is really good reason to do it..have a nice day my friend..take care my friend..

We had this law Jan 1st in France
I do smoke but as the year has gone on I much prefer to eat out with non smoking,shops everthing, and I do agree with the change.
At first clubs,bars ect were very worried,,but where possible tables were put outside and smokers went there..
No problem,,you have to consider everyones health,I chose to smoke it does not mean everyone else has to.

smoke is ban from last 2 years in bangladesh. you can't smoke any public place. like retrurent,bar , stations, bus stand, park and more. i'm a smoker. govt should give permission for smoke at least in bar and teastall.
