Currently, I can say that my girlfriend and I have a long distance relationship. It's not a cross-country relationship. She is now working (and living) in another province and we only see each other once a week or twice a month according to her availability.
It is not our choice to be far from each other. We have plans for me to live there with her when I find a work there.
For me, long distance relationship really takes a lot of trust and faith. I think I can live with this situation but I would always want us to live together, especially we have plans to get married in years to come.
Even though we are far, we always maintain communication. I think it is an essential factor so that long distance relationship may prosper.

I think I would rather be alone than have a long distance relationship. It is had enough making it work with them right here. It seems to me that if it is a long distance relationship you will be alone most of the time anyway. Seems like if you have to have a long distance thing then you are just wanting the security of saying that you have somebody, but you really dont have anybody they are way away.
