Went for my ultra sound on my ovaries today

Well this started out very fun last night. lol I was looking for my paperwork for today's appointment and could NOT find it! Everywhere I put important stuff when we were moving didn't have it! I was so upset. lol
I got up this morning to call my dr's office for the address. Now the girl I talked to gave me directions that were so confusing (she did however say it was NOT in the hospital), I just asked her for a phone # to call. So I called the number and it was the GYN building in New Orleans. I get there and there is confusion (of course) and then they tell me I was suppose to go to the HOSPITAL! Thank God it was across the street or I'd have been even more upset. lol
I go to the hospital and sign in and go in the back to radiology. Tell the nurse back there what I am there for and she suggested I drink more water to be sure I had a FULL bladder, so I took the suggestion. I had 40oz of drink/water in me for this test and I CAN'T drink that much!
This was at 11:45 at 12:00 I was so ready to go in for my test (the lady in front of me went in at 11:50 and was out at 12:10). Hubby told the nurse I was ready to go in and she told the tech's and I still waited 10 minutes or more to go in and by that time I was in so much pain, I didn't want to do the test or move. lol
I did go in and did the test, they did the ultra sound (full bladder) and then an innerultrasound(not sure of the name of that test) without the full bladder. the tech told me she couldn't find my right ovaries so she did the second test.
The tech told me she didn't find any cyst, but a small fibroid on my uterous. So I have to wait for Thursday to see what the dr's say. My sister said she had a lot of them and my risk of getting more is very high (run in the family) so I don't know what to expect!
Now my question about this is why do they say you need a full bladder and when you get one, they make you sit and wait until you feel like you are afraid to move because if you do, you will pee right there?!

Sounds like you had a trying experience. Sorry about that. I recently had one as well. After finding out I was pregnant. Getting ready for another one. This one will hopefully tell us the baby is a boy or girl. Yes I have felt like peeing right on the table. Hope Thursday brings good news.

Yes I did and I was very aggravated by the time I was able to do the test. lol Hubby was getting annoyed that they were making me wait longer and there was NO one on the table. I knew who I was after and we timed how long it took her in there.
I was just happy to get it over with and will be happier when tomorrow's appointment comes.
Good Luck with your ultra sound.
I remember doing that when I was pregnant, I told the dr I didn't want to know, but I saw on the ultra sound nothing that belonged to a boy and the dr just smiled when I told him that. lol

Icy, I had to do that before my son was born.. The ultrasound waves bounce off the water or something like that.. I didn't give a d*mn, I just wanted to go to the bathroom before I peed on myself.. If anyone has never had to drink this much water and then hold it until they call you for the test, they don't know what they are missing.. I drank so much and hurt so bad that I almost cried.. I do remember wiping my eyes a few times and when hubby asked me if I was crying, I told him, no, I was cheating and was peeing.. You have to be a strong woman to even think of laughing at a time like that.. Laughter and a full bladder do not work well together..

LOL you are so right on that Donna! lol
Hubby wanted to make another appointment for me so I could pee. lol I am still hurting today from holding it for so long. The thing that got me was the tech was a woman and she was nice, but you would think she would know what it was like to hold it in and how it hurts. Our organs are not made to do that!
I'll post either Thursday evening or Friday about what the dr said and what if anything they will do about it.
Thanks Donna

I think that is terrible to make you wait so long. Its not easy waiting when you need to go so bad. I would so want to give somebody a piece of my mind. Hugs to you

Thank you Fishmomma. Hubby wanted to. lol He told me nice and loudly that he was going to set up another appointment for me for next week so I could go to the bathroom. I think that's why the nurse went to see what the hold up was.
I was in so much pain as is and to drink so much on top made it hurt even more.

Yeah I know that, but the problem is when you are ready to have the test because your bladder is full, they still make you wait when there is NO one on the table and that isn't fair. lol
I was in a lot of pain and had to walk to the room and to the bed and I had to concentrate on not peeing. lol That was not too much fun let me tell ya!
After the ultra sound, I could go to the bathroom and I had concentrated on NOT going so much, I had a hard time going! lol I ran some water out the faucet to help me concentrate on going this time. lol
Thanks DN

Yep I know that's how I felt. Thing is I can't hold a lot so I was ready to burst when I said I was ready and no one was on the table and they still made me wait which made it worse.
