As said earlier - HUMANS as we consume resources and increase population without any control limits. and modern humans seem to have lost any self-preservation instinct that might leave a viable eco-system for their off-spring

I agree -- the human animal is the most dangerous to the environment, other wildlife, and themselves. They poison waterways and land, kill animals for sport, and ruin the atmosphere.
