Being Fat is BEAUTIFUL!

Whenever i see advertisements and commercials, the models are almost always slim, not to mention anorexially THIN. They are the models which portray beauty. And when you're born as a chubby girl, you wonder why they get to be so thin and gorgeous! I hated myself before and I get insecurities because of this. But did you know, being plump is actually the trur form associated with beauty ever since the greek mythology got started. Yuo see goddesses in Victorian portraits, and they are not slim as commercial models. In fact, even in men, a big tummy represents wealth and power. So how did we ever get the notion of Thin as Beautiful? It's time to realize that chubby girls are beautiful too!

Your absolutely right! But the facts is that when women are put on commercials are sometimes portrayed as objects, so they are made into this fantasy image. Which is why they always seem beautiful, vibrant and happy. But it is also the women's choice to look a certain way, it's just that people nowadays need to understand looks don't necessarily matter;if you wish to be a size 0 or a size 30 than that's super, as long as you make changes for yourself and not for others. Another thing is, is that actresses and models are always in the public's eye. For example if a model was out eating lunch and she were to take a bite from her burger, a paparazzi might pop out and take a picture. And the picture was put in a newspaper for everyone ot see and the title was called "MODELS EAT TO MUCH". Then that model might feel discussted and would want to try anything to look the way the media portrayed her. Anyone with that problem should know they are beautiful inside and out.

...yes they are portrayed into something that should be something out of a fantasy, and they are called "models" for a reason that people would look AT them as a "model". Something to be... And it hurts how self-confidence and self-esteem of girls seem to drop because they are thinking that they should look like barbie in order to look beautiful.. And about the paparrazzi, that's just awful too... I've watched America's Next Top Model and i felt sorry for a contestant who wouldn't eat anything because she need to keep her waist thin. :(

well...basically beauty is defined by proportions. It's true not only for humans, but for animals as well (proven that male butterflies with more proportioned wing patterns attract more mates) ...i wanted to make a point that in our society where media promotes beauty in very thin women, we have to realize that chubby people are not supposed to feel insecured about it 'cause we are also beautiful in our own ways. In fact, we may be much beautiful than we think we are.

I personally believe that different people look good with different amounts of fat on them. What I mean by that is, one person may be attractive with a little fat but another person may look good with a lot of fat. I think it has to do with the individual's body structure. That's just my opinion. I don't expect anyone to share it because a lot of people think all women have to look a certain way to be beautiful.

girls are more insecure with how they look more than guys could imagine. When the trend came that the thinner girls with prominent cheekbones appeared, most girls got into manic dieting. Some of them really got thin, but looked older as well... ^^,

Yes Its about being comfertable in your own skin. I think the biggest concern would be the health factor for you, and other big girls because there is alot of diseases assosiated with being big. So the main thing is to be healthly, not stick thin. I have a patented nutrition bar that turns fat into fuel and it is amazing. you eat it 15 mins. before you do any cleaning walking or whatever, and takes your fat and turns it into fuel. If anyone out there is interested contact me.

Are you kidding me, I don't really like girls who are too thin, because it doesn't look right to me, so I always date girls with a little extra meat on their bones, I like that and I think its so sexy, but I'm 16 and I have already realized that, but if its the boys in your grade who don't like thicker girls tell em to grow up, and appreciate true beauty. Wish other people can realize this...

I do my best to never judge women based on their size since I'm also heavy-set. I'd be afraid to date one of those toothpick models because I don't want to give her a big bear hug and hear bones snapping. While I agree that being in shape (which I'm trying to become) is healthier, beauty comes in all sizes.

LOL!!... so true ^-^ even though we do consider that being fat doesn't mean you're undesirable or anything, we do need to stay in "shape" for health reasons. Thanks for the response! :D

chocolateiscreams that depends on how much fat, rolls and rolls of fat look awful and are really unhealthy. a girl looks great if she is not bone thin and not filled with rolls of fat either. a happy medium is what we need in this country. to be slim but not skinny, to be a little plump but not fat. being really fat is a good way to become diabetic . A little flesh on ones bones' is great, but not rolls and rolls.being fit is beautiful not being fat is beautiful. fat and skinny both are unehealthy.

That is really some great info you posted I am slowly learning to love myself and used t think that way in high school . I suppose it is because I heard you have such a pretty face , and if only you lost weight . What the heck right ? I was pretty then in all way wish I would of seen that in not had such lower self esteem . The things I wish I knew now .Many people do love us bbw's and if we have confidence we are looked at in a whole other light . Sure , I wanna lose more weight , but never wanna be thin . I LOVE MY CURVES

I think it's better to have a pretty face with a filled body with curves than a thin body with a shrunken face. And CURVES ARE SEXY...! (^-^)

Being a little chubby is fine!! Not all people are born with the same structure. But if you are chubby makes sure you dress nice, don't be a slob, carry yourself proud, dont be ashamed. I agree too skinny is not good but A nice slender body with some sexy curves is HOT HOT HOT!!!

In America there is a new trend. Men like thick chicks with big butts. There is actually a name for the girls. Men call them Redbone.I think it has something to do with having a native american background, although I am not sure. Light skinned, thick chicks with good hair. Like a tan or mocha color with nice hair. It is very different today. Usually you will see these girls in Urban Areas, not out in Rural Areas, more like an inner city look. Girls like that can't walk down the street with out cars honking their horns. So not being skinny is starting to catch on. But there are still many girls who think that thin is in because of the stuff that is portrayed in magazines and on tv. I remember being a teenager and agonizing over how I didn't look like those girls on the pages of all the teen magazines.

Yeah, I kinda see these on movies. sexy ladies usually are big girls with really nice curves. They really are seductive. They don't look model thin. But they're hot.

I too like girls that are not too thin because it doesn't feel good to hug people who are all bones right?

I hate really really skinny people! I mean whoever s idea it was to let them eat chocolate fudge cake and not gain a pound, but to let me gain 10lbs by looking at it, was just plain horrible! I have no idea why the whole word is obsessed with this whole skinny brigade trend! I don't support it! curves rock :)

whoa~ let's not hate. :p but yeah, it really seems nice to eat fudge cake without worrying that you'd gain another pound and then wear another inch around you waist. I really envy girls who could eat way more han their boyfriends and still not gain a single pound on them. I guess it's because I love to appreciate and eat food. And I love sweets.
