Yesterday, s/o left his ebay page up...he went outside, I was distracted with laundry...and our 3 year old clicked on a "buy it now" item for $150 plus shipping! The seller was understanding, s/o will get a bad mark for it or something so the seller can get his fees back but at least we don't have to actually buy the item. Today everyone was outside, MIL had just gotten home and parked behind stepson's car (perpendicular to it). I ran inside to change my shirt assuming the boys would be fine since there were plenty of other people were still outside. Well I guess they lost track of the little one (19 1/2 months) because when I came back out MIL was looking at the back of her car and saying she didn't realize she parked that close to stepson's car (the back bumpers were touching)...that's when I heard the little one...he was sitting in the driver's seat of stepson's car. He'd figured out how to open the door and apparently he climbed in and put the car in gear and it rolled back into MIL's car! So now, ebay is not left up unless some one is sitting right here and the car doors are locked! Who would have thought two little boys could get into so much mischief! (Neither car was damaged by the way, it only rolled 2-3 feet and MIL was laughing about it)

I have heard a story growing up about my older brother. When he was around 2 years old he got a chair and dragged it over to where my mom's purse was hanging, climbed up and got her keys. Then he proceeded to go outside and grab a rock, put it on the gas peddle, put the keys in the ignition, and start the car. He put it in gear(reverse) and ran it across the yard into our neighbors birdbath.

LOL...I'm sure one of mine will do something similar! How'd the neighbor react?

I don't think they were too upset.

Let's face it, you have superactive boys and that I love. You're just going to have to learn to avoid all the opportunities for them to spend your money, drive your car, overcook your food and all the other danger spots around the house. Its fun, really, and when you look back at it you realise you must have pretty much done the same or similar at home when you were their age. One of the things I regret in life is not being able to remember all my own stuff. There's not going to be another time like this one, remember that.

And they are only so little for a short time..and then I will miss their antics. They sure do know how to create some great memories and tons of laughs. It's too bad more adults couldn't retain a little bit of their child like behavior...with the right balance I bet it would make for a happier world.

I have a friend I was on the phone with when she went into the other room for a minute came back into the living room and her almost 3 year old had gotton the bottle of grape juice out of the fridge and dumped it all in the middle of the living room carpet. He had also gotton into a high cupboard somehow and gotton the surup and squirted it all over the carpet and his train set. She was just amazed he could do all that is such a short period of time. The carpet was brand new installed by their landlord right before they moved in. There is no saving it now.

Oh I know what happens when syrup meets carpet! It does not end well! It's even worse than 12 raw eggs and a bottle of ketchup.

Oh my goodness. Talking about having a bad day. It's funny to read about but I guess it wouldn't be too funny if it was happening to me. :o) I'm sure glad you got everything straightened out with ebay though. And sure glad there was no damage done or anyone hurt in the car episode. I tell you, you can't take your eyes off these little ones for a minute can you?

You know, your response just gave me a second mini scare! I knew at least the little guy was tucked safely in the car with the door shut while it rolled backward but for some reason what you said made me realize that either of the other two boys could have been standing behind the car when it all happened! Luckily they weren't but it could have been possible. The phrase "I'm only one person" gets used a lot with 3 little boys age 5 and under! I am only one person and even with several others around it seems like there's never enough of us to keep them out of mischief.

I can understand! I have one that is going through the terrible twos right now. She isn't too mischievous yet. That was nice of the ebay seller to do that. You know that they can't leave negative feedback anymore so that won't be a problem! I can only imagine what I have in store for me!

I have a son who is 3 years 8 months, and a daughter who is 7. Here are just a few of our incidents: 1. A MINIMUM of 2 gallons of soy milk has been poured on my living room carpet (For a side by side fridge, there is a lock made by The Parents Unit that actually works!) 2. I have had my toilet bowl removed 3 times to dig out toys, socks, towels, etc 3. An entire bottle of shampoo will sometimes clear the toilet of some toys, but most will be stuck 4. My daughter (at about 2) shoved $4.00 worth of PENNIES inside the computer tower 5. Sharpie and computer screen = not good 6. They can color on the ceiling above the bed (while jumping of course) 7. Coins usually pass through the digestive system, as do magnets, but connect 4 chips get puked up. 8. "Mom, I watered the flowers" is never good (also watered my car through the OPEN window) 9. Chocolate soy milk stains, everything 10. Oops, uh oh, oh no, shhh, don't tell mommy...are all signs that you're already too late!

hi foxyfire33 never underestimate the power of a nineteen and a half year old, lol. wow. got the car in gear. well good thing it did not have that far to roll. little fingers are tricky. my son was about that age when he found out how to use a pair of pliers, he by his own little self undid all the fastenings on his play pen. I heard my husband cuss then burst out laughing as one be one the wall of the play pen fell over. wow who would have thought a little baby could undo his own play'pen. he sure did want out of there.

I did! I have two girls (grown) and then i have two boys (12 & 13yrs/o) and take my word those two little boys started giving me an education before they could even walk (esp. the oldest)! I had NEVER been so surprised by the things that a little boy will think to do that would never cross a little girls mind!

I had left my 3 kids in the truck once while I looked at a tired that felt as if it may have a bubble. My 3 year old (at the time) had shimmied out of his car seat and put the truck in gear. They hit a tree about 5 feet from them and dented the bumper. It wouldn't have been so bad had it not been my boss's truck. All was well though after I paid for a new bumper.
